Southern Border War

At the remains of Yi Tian Mountain, Southern Border’s righteous path holds a defensive Gu formation around a giant dream realm. Access is sold outward as an immortal opportunity business run through a mortal Gu House, with Lady White Rabbit as the front for that trade. ^{ch. 1213} Chi clan’s first supreme elder Chi Qu You arranged that super Gu formation. He is a formation path great grandmaster whose strongest Immortal Gu formation is three tune nine pool formation, and at least thirteen righteous path Gu Immortals sit inside because Southern Border’s righteous path has thirteen super forces. ^{ch. 1212} Several righteous forces share the seal and use paid entry to take resources from demonic path and lone cultivators while avoiding further losses of their own experts. ^{ch. 1214}

Southern Border’s Gu Immortal politics are already in play when he arrives. Old Treeman Ba De is named as the strongest person under rank eight in Southern Border’s Gu Immortal world, and Wu clan’s rank-eight strength is treated as the weight that keeps weaker righteous clans in line. Ba De also states that Wu clan’s first supreme elder is near the end of her lifespan, and that her death will change Southern Border’s situation and give other clans a chance to strike. ^{ch. 1214}

The real Wu Yi Hai, escorted toward Southern Border by the bodyguards Uncle Zhang and Brother Leng, is ambushed inside the miasma regional wall by what the three take for a wild ancient sword dragon. When Wu Yi Hai drops his tortoise form to change shape, a sword path killer move named dark assassination pierces the head of the tiger Uncle Zhang has become, and the dragon crosses the gap in an instant to shatter Wu Yi Hai’s head and take his corpse into an immortal aperture. ^{ch. 1216} The dragon is Fang Yuan, whose disguise crosses the miasma regional wall as a wild beast would, which Brother Leng treats as impossible for a transformation path Gu Immortal. Brother Leng dies last, and both escorts’ corpses go into Fang Yuan’s immortal aperture. He soul-searches Wu Yi Hai and annexes Wu Yi Hai’s blessed land after repairing blood asset Immortal Gu and using a simplified blood light spirit suppression on the land spirit. ^{ch. 1217}

Wu Du Xiu dies with her body breaking into white light, and Wu Yong becomes Wu clan’s next first supreme elder. Qiao Si Liu is named as Qiao clan’s pride and one of Southern Border’s three great fairies while Qiao clan presses a continued marriage alliance with Wu clan. ^{ch. 1218} Fang Yuan appears as Wu Yi Hai with Qiao clan backing. ^{ch. 1219} At Wu Du Xiu’s funeral he passes the rank-seven Bloodline Immortal Gu test, then refines life tablet Gu and soul lantern Gu for Wu clan’s ancestral hall as the mark of acknowledgment into the clan. Wu Yi Hai’s name spreads across Southern Border’s Gu Immortal world on the strength of that blood tie to Wu Yong. ^{ch. 1220}

Thirteen righteous path forces split the space inside the super Gu formation into thirteen portions; Wu clan and Ba clan hold the largest shares, while Tie clan and Shang clan hold smaller ones, and Qiao clan is named as Wu clan’s most loyal ally on that board. ^{ch. 1223} After later digressions outside the region, he returns to Southern Border still wearing Wu Yi Hai’s appearance and resumes dream-realm work from Wu clan. ^{ch. 1301}

Chapter 1229 is titled Love Gu. Spirit Affinity House’s first supreme elder confirms that Zhao Lian Yun has already received love Gu’s acknowledgment and names her the current generation fairy. ^{ch. 1229} Heavenly Court’s Duke Long has awakened; Fairy Zi Wei hands him leadership, and he orders Zhao Lian Yun made Spirit Affinity House’s fairy, gives her a phantom aperture, and directs the ten great ancient sects to support a Northern Plains rescue of Ma Hong Yun. ^{ch. 1230}

Fang Yuan pays Eastern Sea resources to borrow Immortal Gu from Wu clan’s treasury, including dragon strength Immortal Gu and dragon scales Immortal Gu for myriad self and sword dragon transformation. ^{ch. 1240}

He later leaves Southern Border alone to hunt Ying Wu Xie, crosses the regional wall into Eastern Sea, rests in a nameless sea area, and finds Ying Wu Xie’s group has already left Southern Border for Eastern Sea on the way toward Northern Plains. ^{ch. 1248}

In Northern Plains, he refines perseverance Immortal Gu inside Reverse Flow River and conquers that secluded domain of heaven and earth, becoming Reverse Flow River Lord while rank eight forces wait outside. ^{ch. 1286}

Chapter 1350 is titled Grey Night Breaks The Formation. The immemorial desolate beast Zuo Ye Hui, together with Hei Lou Lan, Bai Ning Bing, and Fairy Miao Yin, cracks an outer layer of the super Gu formation and exposes the giant dream realm that the formation had concealed. ^{ch. 1350} Chapter 1351 is titled Chaotic Battle. Shadow Sect attacks while Southern Border’s righteous path defends inside the damaged formation. ^{ch. 1351} Later narration names the fight between Purple Mountain True Monarch and Duke Long as the core of the battle of the giant dream realm. ^{ch. 1361} During that battle, Spectral Soul’s main body is captured by Duke Long. ^{ch. 1368}

By then, Wu Yi Hai is missing from the super Gu formation he had controlled, and that formation is forcibly held by two rank-eight forces with Central Continent and Northern Plains auras. ^{ch. 1375} After that battle, Heavenly Court plunders Southern Border’s super Gu formation, Fang Yuan’s Wu Yi Hai identity is exposed, and he keeps the Shadow Sect remnant as its leader. ^{ch. 1379} Later narration names the Battle of Yi Tian Mountain and the battle of the giant dream realm as the two Heavenly Court strikes that broke Shadow Sect’s long plan. ^{ch. 1397}

Pursuit continues into the following chapters, including Shadow Sect’s clash with Feng Jiu Ge, named among the strongest under rank eight. ^{ch. 1420}
