Chapter 1349

Back from cultivation, Fang Yuan learns Lady White Rabbit wants to meet him and refuses. Leaving her behind carries huge risks because everyone knows how close Lady White Rabbit and Wu Yi Hai are, but he keeps her as a chess piece to squeeze out the rest of her value. He spends his last day hunting dream realms but finds only absurd ones. He cannot go after the many realistic dream realms he has heard Qiao clan holds, since using his exploration method on their territory would expose him. In Qiao clan’s area of the formation, Qiao Bo tells Fairy Miao Yin and the other demonic path Gu Immortals that their exploration ends in a day and that Qiao clan will gladly buy the dream path materials they find. Bai Ning Bing kills him from behind moments later, piercing his heart and freezing him into an ice statue, and Hei Lou Lan then drops her disguise as the group begins its attack. ^{ch. 1349}

At the same time, Lady White Rabbit again begs Wu An to see Wu Yi Hai. When he dismisses her again, her eyes turn black and she declares herself Black Tigress. She melts him into a puddle of black water with a killer move she says was meant for Wu Yi Hai himself. The super Gu formation begins shaking as he dies. Chi Gui, Chi clan’s leader on the spot, warns the righteous path Gu Immortals that the attackers are inside the formation; its defence is incredibly strong but split in two, and a blow from within does far more damage. Chi Gui reassures them citing the formation’s four defensive layers, but a stronger second wave of explosions kills Gu worms and destroys Immortal Gu regardless. Chi Gui is shocked and asks whether they have found the formation core, judging that the enemy came prepared rather than striking on impulse, while others report an earlier heavy strike on the formation’s outside. ^{ch. 1349}

Fang Yuan is caught unprepared in Wu clan’s hall. He learns of Lady White Rabbit’s betrayal and Wu An’s death. He resolves to kill her himself, to avenge Wu An and keep the formation stable. Qiao Si Liu transmits that her side of the Gu formation is completely out of control and begs him for help, sending the scene of Bai Ning Bing killing Qiao Bo. Fang Yuan realizes Shadow Sect is behind the attack, with its rank eight Purple Mountain True Monarch possibly waiting outside. ^{ch. 1349}

He abandons the idea of going out despite his killing intent. He reads Shadow Sect’s aim as rescuing Spectral Soul’s main body and, expecting trump cards from them, waits and observes behind a super Gu formation that can hold off rank eight Gu Immortals. When Qiao Si Liu pleads again, he refuses, citing Wu An’s murder, while privately writing her off. ^{ch. 1349}

Left alone, the rank seven Qiao Si Liu faces Fairy Miao Yin at the same rank, plus the rank six Hei Lou Lan and Bai Ning Bing. In Qiao Si Liu’s view the situation is not out of control, and she tells the three that the activated super Gu formation has them trapped. She tells them to surrender and become her clan’s slave Gu Immortals, saying they might then survive. Fairy Miao Yin laughs and asks if that is so. ^{ch. 1349}
