Wu Yi Hai

Sword-light dragon breath forces him to raise a small round golden shield that breaks, buying time to vanish and become a huge horned divine tortoise. That ancient desolate beast form has tough defense and reduced battle strength, so he holds only a defensive posture. ^{ch. 1216}

Fang Yuan kills him in the regional wall after dark assassination removes Uncle Zhang, then soul searches him and annexes his blessed land. Narration states he was a rank seven Gu Immortal. His disappearance spreads across Southern Border while Wu clan stays silent. ^{ch. 1217}

His blessed land, a sea in Mini Eastern Sea, holds three ancient desolate beast horned divine tortoises, a wide field of ancient desolate plant silent corals, and six desolate beast white letter blue feather seagulls, all now under the sea turtle land spirit. ^{ch. 1291}

After soul searching him, Fang Yuan finds three transformation killer moves: coral form, seagull form, and tortoise. His immortal aperture shows the same three, since a transformation path Gu Immortal usually raises the species he turns into, both for refinement material and for the study that makes a transformation convincing. ^{ch. 1298}

After Fang Yuan, acting as Wu Yi Hai, drives off Xia clan’s Gu Immortals at Frosty Peak, Wu clan elder Wu Fa grants that his bravery will spread his name throughout Southern Border’s Gu Immortal world. Wu Fa then sets two things against the reward: Wu Yi Hai did not completely settle the problem and only set a five year agreement, and Frosty Peak has been viciously plundered, its foundation damaged and its value greatly reduced. Wu Yong leaves the final decision to Wu Fa, who calculates for a while and hands Fang Yuan a detailed list. ^{ch. 1312}

Wu Yong offers three tasks, Xuan Ming Mountain, red dragon river and Yi clan’s banquet, and Fang Yuan as Wu Yi Hai takes the second, preventing red dragon river’s flood. Narration calls that task a trap, because Wu clan and Qiao clan both hold territory near the river and the work opens an opportunity to collaborate with Qiao clan’s Gu Immortals. The choice chills Wu Yong at once and he decides then and there to transfer Wu Yi Hai away as soon as possible rather than let him keep contact with Qiao clan; only after thinking further does he settle on the giant dream realm as the place to exile him to. Narration adds that the three tasks were never a real choice, only a way of testing him. ^{ch. 1322}

Ying Wu Xie reports to Purple Mountain True Monarch that Chi Shang and Wu Yi Hai became good friends rather than rivals, and Purple Mountain True Monarch finds Wu Yi Hai interesting for holding enough formation path attainment to gain Chi Shang’s approval while primarily cultivating transformation path. Purple Mountain True Monarch adds that the attainment would help Wu Yi Hai, but that he could not defy Wu Yong and was sent to the super Gu formation again, and Ying Wu Xie answers that Wu Yong is a rank eight Gu Immortal with great authority now while Wu Yi Hai had just returned, did not join with Qiao clan, and cannot get their full support. Ying Wu Xie then judges that he has great ambitions all the same, since he got close to Qiao Si Liu yet did not get together with her, which shows he has not agreed a profit distribution with Qiao clan, and asks whether that ambition can be made use of. Purple Mountain True Monarch replies that they might, but that they know too little about him, and turns Shadow Sect’s plans on Wu clan toward Wu Yong instead. ^{ch. 1333}

When the super Gu formation falls under the control of two rank eight intruders and Wu Yi Hai cannot be reached, Chi Gui reports him missing; Ba De concludes he is very likely to have been killed, since a rank seven would stand no chance against two rank eights. ^{ch. 1375}

Heavenly Court’s Fairy Zi Wei sends Wu Yong an information path Gu revealing that the real Wu Yi Hai had long been dead and that the person who had mixed into Wu clan under that name was the otherworldly demon Fang Yuan. ^{ch. 1382}
