For strength path Immortal Gu such as these, Fang Yuan’s strength path dao marks can resonate so he unleashes more than the Gu’s base power. ^{ch. 758} In Hu Immortal blessed land, Fang Yuan activates the Gu and lifts Dang Hun Mountain with a formless force. ^{ch. 769} Strength path dao marks on his body resonate with the Gu; ^{ch. 758} the Gu’s own power does not change, but that resonance lets him bring out close to twenty percent more strength in the test. ^{ch. 769} The Gu can break a mountain’s connection to earth qi without damaging the mountain body, and after the mountain is set down the earth qi link can form again. That short lift of Dang Hun Mountain costs him three beads of green grape immortal essence. He later lists Pulling Mountain among the Immortal Gu gained from the auction. ^{ch. 769}

Fang Yuan plans to fuse Pulling Mountain and Pulling Water into the immortal killer move myriad self. He finishes fusing Pulling Mountain into myriad self. ^{ch. 817} After that fusion, the killer move’s core becomes Self Strength and Pulling Mountain together, and lifting Dang Hun Mountain with myriad self giant hand becomes much easier. ^{ch. 822} After the merge, myriad self giant hand gains more power against earth path desolate beasts such as hidden sand spider queens. ^{ch. 837}

Fang Yuan’s inventory then includes Pulling Mountain among his rank six Immortal Gu. ^{ch. 1082} He later advances it to rank seven with other Immortal Gu. ^{ch. 1683}

With the Gu he can drag Dang Hun Mountain into his immortal aperture alone. ^{ch. 1096} In Hei Fan grotto-heaven, Fang Yuan uses the Gu to dig out and transplant the entire hibiscus stalactite cave into Mini Southern Border, work that would otherwise have been hard to manage. ^{ch. 1133} Against City Well, Pulling Mountain alone only shakes the well slightly, because City Well is not a mountain even though it sits on the ground and needs earth qi. ^{ch. 1158}

Fang Yuan uses Pulling Mountain to move Five Light Mountain out of Liu Qing Yu’s blessed land and into his sovereign immortal aperture, placing it in Mini Southern Border, where it becomes the biggest mountain of them all and pushes Immortal Succession Mountain down to second tallest. Ying Wu Xie cannot move the mountain himself because he no longer holds Pulling Mountain, having once owned it before it was sold to Fang Yuan in those dealings. ^{ch. 1152}

After plundering Frosty Peak’s frost jades, Fang Yuan considers using Pulling Mountain to pull the whole peak into his sovereign blessed land, then decides against it. Acting under his Wu Yi Hai identity, he judges that pulling the mountain would expose his true identity and go beyond what he could justify to Wu clan after already profiting from the affair. ^{ch. 1312}
