Chapter 1158

The Legends of Ren Zu records that Ren Zu’s fourth child, Boundless Forest Samsara, fell from the tree and was trapped inside Ordinary Abyss, where she meets a miniman who had mistaken her for a mountain, and the two become friends. Asked after his family, he points to a well, his former home; looking in, she finds a city of minimen with houses, markets and flowers, and at that moment their sky turns dark and thunders without rain. The miniman explains that his own people exiled him as a monster for insisting their world was only a well and their mountain, Miniscule Mountain, just a small mound. Amused, Boundless Forest Samsara shouts the truth down herself, her breath a tornado in the well and her spit rain, but the minimen only panic, believing the sky has turned furious, and she gives up, exhausted, without changing a mind. Asked why he alone climbed out, the miniman points to his own realization. Only after seeing how small he was did he need to see the world outside. ^{ch. 1158}

City Well is Fang Yuan’s third secluded domain of heaven and earth. It follows Dang Hun Mountain and Luo Po Valley. Ying Wu Xie had set it as a trap, but Fang Yuan, forewarned by Liu Qing Yu, turns it into a killing ground for Eastern Sea Gu Immortals instead. A killer move gains tens or hundreds of times its power once it enters the well, and Fang Yuan’s essence cost climbs the same way: three uses of giant hand there cost him about as much as a hundred ordinary uses. ^{ch. 1158}

An uninformed person who falls to the bottom is trapped there, but one who comes to understand what City Well is can climb back out. Ying Wu Xie set the well to stall rather than kill. Killing Fang Yuan by accident would leave him no immortal material for refining sovereign immortal fetus Gu, and the weightier fear was that Fang Yuan would see the truth at once and escape with the upper extreme heavenly eagle. Fang Yuan wants City Well for his aperture, but pulling mountain Immortal Gu only shakes it slightly, since the well is no mountain though it sits on the ground and needs earth qi, and giant hand shrinks and depletes quickly. Even Shadow Sect, which controls this domain, seems unable to relocate it, Fang Yuan judges. He gives up for now: Pulling Mountain works but not alone, and relocating City Well needs an immortal killer move made for it. ^{ch. 1158}

He enters the well, shrinking as he reaches the bottom, to loot the battlefield. Only Zhou Li and Tang Song left whole corpses, which he stores in the sovereign immortal aperture, while the rest are meat paste. Ding Qi’s self-detonation destroyed his own resources but left behind his blood path immortal aperture, which Fang Yuan, a blood path grandmaster, can still annex; the other dead Gu Immortals left theirs too. Heaven and earth qi bursts out as blessed lands form, and Fang Yuan explores them, finding the Eastern Sea cultivators’ resources mostly intact. Where a blessed land has no land spirit he takes everything in it; where one does, the spirit must accept him as master first, and rather than plunder for a short term gain he leaves brute force aside. ^{ch. 1158}

Afterward, Fang Yuan leaves the well and reworks the bubble. He keeps some of Ying Wu Xie’s arrangements while adding his own to hide it further. He then moves the bubble to a new position in the currents, costing him more than ten times Ying Wu Xie’s original essence and time. He then detours to Ying Wu Xie’s former camp, another island in another bubble, where Regret Pool is already dismantled, its surrounding Gu formations gone, and the Shadow Sect’s stored tributary of the River of Time vanished too. Even so, Fang Yuan judges it enough to win Miao Ming Shen’s friendship, and sends word of it through his information path mortal Gu, by way of treasure yellow heaven. ^{ch. 1158}
