Named places

Tian Jing Beacon follows a world-map label for a place the novel calls Tian Jing island. Fang Yuan places that island in Eastern Sea as the only site of natural sky well Gu, used with Eastern Sea’s blue sky Gu. ch. 353

Named sea areas sit inside that expanse. Turbulent Flow is one, a maze of currents Gu Immortals often lose their way in. ch. 1045 Qi sea is another special and mysterious sea area inside Eastern Sea. ch. 1297

Resources and cultivation

Eastern Sea is the most abundant in resources of the five regions, and its Gu Immortals are usually more affluent. That wealth feeds trading conventions famous across the five regions, where Immortal Gu often change hands. ch. 1295 Most Eastern Sea Gu Immortals cultivate water path. ch. 1297

Character of the region

Vast sea areas and deep seas hide water creatures, sea beasts, minerals, and precious stones, which draws Gu Immortals from the other four regions. ch. 672 ch. 819

Sea areas and peoples

The Eastern Sea is divided into named sea areas, and resource-rich ones are distributed among people the way grassland is split in the Northern Plains. The region also holds populations that are not human, with mermen among its top super forces. ch. 892

Merman legend

Among the mermen, a legendary story places the first batch of mermen in Eastern Sea, where they built a small fishing village before a sea beast and a Sea God bargain shaped later ceremony custom. ch. 1665
