In the prior-life outcome Five Elements Grandmaster recounts, Eastern Sea’s lone immortal Yang Jun suddenly turns to help Duke Long at the crucial moment, allowing Duke Long to suppress the rank eight Immortal Gu House and keep it. Five Elements Grandmaster treats Yang Jun as recruited by Heavenly Court. Fang Yuan thinks he might instead have been Heavenly Court’s spy in Eastern Sea from the start. ^{ch. 1697}

At the qi sea banquet Yang Jun joins the contest for heart blood Immortal Gu as an Eastern Sea rank eight lone immortal. Fang Yuan recalls that in the previous life Yang Jun helped Duke Long take Dragon Palace, then vanished, and that during the battle of repairing fate Gu Yang Jun did not appear, which Fang Yuan reads as an agreement to act once rather than membership. Yang Jun decides to repay Heavenly Court’s favor: he offers Drowning Uncle a water path Immortal Gu, snatches heart blood Immortal Gu with an immortal killer move, and places it into treasure yellow heaven for Fairy Zi Wei. ^{ch. 1886}
