Chapter 1691

Dragon Palace turns into golden light and shoots skyward at an extremely fast speed, and rank eight Gu Immortals chase it in intense battles all along its trail. Lower rank Gu Immortals flee, since only rank eights qualify, and Fang Yuan and Feng Jiu Ge have both advanced to that rank. Fang Yuan watches from far behind, extremely patient. Over ten days no one concedes, and anyone who nears Dragon Palace meets the joint attack of the rest, so he finds no opening. ^{ch. 1691}

Fang Yuan judges Duke Long the strongest, yet Dragon Palace’s unknown dream path Immortal Gu, the joint attacks and concern for Feng Jin Huang keep him from taking it. Fang Yuan wants Feng Jin Huang too, since she holds a dream path Immortal Gu and is Duke Long’s disciple, but he finds no chance. He reads Eastern Sea’s righteous path as rotating its fighters to guard against Heavenly Court. If this stalemate breaks, a chaotic battle will definitely follow, giving him his chance. ^{ch. 1691}

Zhang Yin strikes Song Qi Yuan with fatal dark lightning, lightly injuring him, and the pursuers split into two groups. The remaining three righteous path rank eights call it Zhang Yin’s trump card, formless, colorless and unsensed, laid in sea or air to explode on touch. They send their ancient desolate beasts through the formation, and Song Qi Yuan lifts the beasts’ auras to the level of immemorial desolate beasts. The beasts trigger the traps and die to pave a path. ^{ch. 1691}

Fang Yuan tries to cross, is struck, and turns to a detour, but the widely spread traps keep hitting him, and he dares not use reverse flow protection seal. After about eight minutes he catches up with the battle. Granny Rong shoots out her red pestilence insignia, and Hua Cai Yun’s pot tossing cloud absorbs it and tosses it away. By coincidence it flies at Fang Yuan, and disguised as a sea snake he barely dodges. It explodes far away, turning countless sea organisms to mush with intense poison, and it also strikes him, but he endures it as a sea snake corpse. ^{ch. 1691}

Several days later his identity is exposed when the rank eight lone cultivator Yang Jun, chasing Dragon Palace in his Immortal Gu House Fragrant Treasure Horse Chariot, finds him by chance. Fang Yuan strikes him and escapes at once. The commotion finally draws the other rank eights, but Duke Long is too late to act. ^{ch. 1691}

In Central Continent’s Infallible blessed land, Fairy Zi Wei, satisfied with its formation, thinks it would trap even Fang Yuan. Feng Jiu Ge, now rank eight, arrives in a bright light. She orders him to Eastern Sea to reinforce Duke Long, protect his daughter Feng Jin Huang, and help Heavenly Court take Dragon Palace. He refuses after a silence, saying Duke Long protects her. Advancing gave him an inspiration for a new song, and he wants to enter the River of Time to experience the journey of myriad beings’ lives. Dazed, she agrees and tells him to guard the River of Time in place of Li Huang. ^{ch. 1691}
