Feng Jiu Ge

He is dressed in a red and white robe. He stands straight like a spear or sword. His eyebrows are sharp like swords. A divine light flashes in his eyes. ^{ch. 744}

Central Continent talk places Song Zi Xing below him: years earlier Feng Jiu Ge forced Song Zi Xing to retreat after three moves. ^{ch. 729} During the Northern Plains Immortal Gu auction the narration states that the disguised Swordmaster You Lan is Feng Jiu Ge, that he wants heavenly gong Immortal Gu because he is a sound path Gu Immortal, and that he is publicly recognized as having the highest battle strength among the ten great ancient sects, still rank seven yet able to withstand rank eight Gu Immortals. ^{ch. 751 ch. 753 ch. 754}

After Old Ancestor Xue Hu’s refinement of fortune rivalling heaven Gu shakes Northern Plains, narration states that within the last few thousand years of the five regions, only Feng Jiu Ge has been able to battle a rank eight existence with rank seven cultivation. ^{ch. 1145} When Fang Yuan’s reverse flow protection seal reflects a rank eight attack at Reverse Flow River, narration states that Feng Jiu Ge no longer holds that standing alone. ^{ch. 1289} Narration later places Fang Yuan’s battle strength on par with Feng Jiu Ge’s. ^{ch. 1292} Amid the battle at the super Gu formation, narration counts only two people in the whole world who can resist rank eight cultivation at rank seven: Feng Jiu Ge and Liu Guan Yi, the name Fang Yuan gave himself in Northern Plains. ^{ch. 1350 ch. 1113}

Named songs and song-linked moves stack across later battles. At Luo Po Valley he fields green jade song against transformation path foes, then names heaven and earth song as a sound path killer move that borrows heaven and earth’s might to suppress resistance. ^{ch. 886} Against Fang Yuan he uses separation song as a signature that counters Immortal Gu Houses and immortal formations, fields green jade song warriors and song warrior bodies, tests submission song against enslavement path, and holds assimilation wind song back as a dangerous last resort already exposed to Fang Yuan. ^{ch. 1573 ch. 1577} Heavenly Court talk already lists assimilation wind song among his known threats when he joins the Lang Ya strike as one of four Heavenly Court immortals. ^{ch. 1575} In the River of Time stretch he unleashes assimilation wind song in full. ^{ch. 1696 ch. 1697} He later uses an incomplete destiny song to break Wu Yong’s farewell friend wind before the finished move appears. ^{ch. 1726} Separation song returns when he fights beside Chen Yi. ^{ch. 1760} Bai Qing later tells Feng Jin Huang that demonic immortal unification song was composed in their courtship, kept unused in battle until the fate war. ^{ch. 1971} Destiny Song is named his ninth song, a sound path rank eight immortal killer move, and in that war he also fields submission song with song warrior condensation against year beasts. ^{ch. 1942 ch. 1953}

Spirit Affinity House sends him to Northern Plains to investigate the collapse of its long True Yang Building plot, while Feng Jin Huang lies unconscious from dream wings Immortal Gu. Bai Qing warns him that many in the other nine sects still resent his old challenge record, and that if Spirit Affinity House loses him they might sigh in relief. ^{ch. 696}

At a Northern Plains auction the seller will accept only a wisdom path inheritance, so Feng Jiu Ge messages the nine Central Continent Gu Immortals lying in wait nearby and buys an incomplete one from Chen Zhen Chi of Myriad Dragon Dock, meaning to hand it to Domination Immortal Chu Du so that Chu Du can keep bidding. He hesitates, because giving up something that valuable for the true heaven silver he had claimed to want would expose his real motive, and while he hesitates Chu Du concedes the bid. ^{ch. 756}

Disguised as an immortal zombie to infiltrate Northern Plains Zombie Alliance, Feng Jiu Ge is exposed by the dao mark door at the discussion hall entrance. Dragon Commander Ye Cha and three immortal zombies give chase, so he stops, springs three waiting Central Continent Gu Immortals around them, and tells them a battlefield killer move has already cut the area off, so their request for reinforcements will never reach Dark Flow Giant City. He says he holds a soul searching method but would rather let them go intact for the truth, and after Ye Cha fights on and loses he agrees to answer anything that does not touch the alliance’s core interests. Feng Jiu Ge asks about the newly joined immortal zombie Sha Huang, and the chapter leaves the scene on his request to hear more. ^{ch. 771}

After Ancient Soul Sect’s Old Oracle privately deduces that True Yang Building’s collapse was most likely caused by a member of the ten great ancient sects, Feng Jiu Ge orders the finding concealed and scatters the visiting immortals to their own private missions, so that a slip while off guard will expose the culprit. Alone with Old Oracle, he admits he has long suspected Ancient Soul Sect itself. ^{ch. 777}

Leading Central Continent Gu Immortals toward Snowy Mountain blessed land while three rank eight Gu Immortals battle in white heaven overhead, Feng Jiu Ge keeps walking on through the hail and thunderbolts after the rest have begun signalling retreat, then halts them, looks up at Old Ancestor Xue Hu winning, and calls the retreat himself once the chance is lost. Three explosions closing that battle strip the group’s concealment away, and he is the only one whose eardrums do not break. ^{ch. 813}

At Luo Po Valley he leads Central Continent Gu Immortals against Shadow Sect’s defense, fields sound path immortal killer moves such as green jade song and heaven and earth song, and names Sword Immortal Bo Qing as his senior in Spirit Affinity House when facing five finger fist heart sword. ^{ch. 886} Qin Bai Sheng activates Luo Po Valley’s mystical lights, one catches Feng Jiu Ge before he can dodge, and he stops resisting and is drawn deep into the valley ahead of Fairy Ling Mei and Fairy Ao Xue, where he names the place a hidden Thieving Heaven Demon Venerable true inheritance. ^{ch. 923} Inside that space Qin Bai Sheng refuses to let him leave, then recites a poem and ends his own life, destroying his own immortal aperture so the winds of assimilation blow, and Feng Jiu Ge has to meet that attack with all his ability. ^{ch. 924} His failing voice guides Zhao Lian Yun to him, and because she is an otherworldly demon the space accepts, the winds of assimilation vanish wherever she goes, until the pillar holding him disperses; he opens his eyes, shows her two words written in blood on his palm, smiles, and his whole body scatters on the wind and is gone. ^{ch. 951} Spirit Affinity House’s first supreme elder then tells the gathered sect immortals that his death inside the winds of assimilation is confirmed and that he left nothing behind but those two words, and she orders it concealed on pain of trial as a traitor. ^{ch. 954} Before leaving for Northern Plains, Feng Jiu Ge had secretly borrowed a time path Immortal Gu to help Fairy Bai Qing advance to rank seven, a fact Spirit Affinity House only learns of afterward, from Xu Hao. ^{ch. 957} Fang Yuan later clears the winds of assimilation inside that space, the last tornado uncovers Feng Jiu Ge sitting cross-legged, and he flies out through the entrance of light. Feng Jiu Ge leaves a letter Gu promising to keep Fang Yuan’s otherworldly demon identity secret, naming himself Feng Jin Huang’s father, and saying that because Fang Yuan saved his life he will save Fang Yuan’s life in the future. ^{ch. 991} Fang Yuan then takes Feng Jiu Ge’s face to claim Luo Po valley for himself; Hui Feng Zi investigates, confirms the disguise as genuine, and reports it onward, so Prince Feng Xian in Northern Plains laughs out loud that Feng Jiu Ge is alive and has taken the valley. Narration states that Feng Jiu Ge said nothing at all to Fang Yuan inside the true inheritance space, unlike the previous life where he spoke when Zhao Lian Yun appeared, and Fang Yuan reads that silence as the caution of a man too heavily injured to risk anything. ^{ch. 992} In a remembered scene, Shadow Sect’s group faces Feng Jiu Ge and the Central Continent Gu Immortals at Luo Po valley; Qin Bai Sheng sighs that heaven’s will’s attack has already arrived, since Central Continent’s investigation into Fang Yuan led them to Shadow Sect instead, leaving Shadow Sect no choice but to fight. ^{ch. 1017}

Fang Yuan’s prior-life memory already expected Heavenly Court to call Feng Jiu Ge up, and other prior-life fragments state that Feng Jiu Ge later died in a Lang Ya blessed land battle and that Domination Immortal died by his hand after he descended from Heavenly Court. ^{ch. 418 ch. 442 ch. 463} Those are previous-life outcomes, not the present timeline’s settled end.

Feng Jiu Ge admits to Fairy Bai Qing that sending Xu Hao to complete the Thieving Heaven true inheritance mission, meant to push Xu Hao and Li Jun Ying aside, backfired: the two of them benefited from it instead and used Zhao Lian Yun’s contest for fairy to hold their ground against him inside Spirit Affinity House. Narration in the same chapter places his death inside the Thieving Heaven true inheritance space in the previous life, and states that history changed when Fang Yuan used Spring Autumn Cicada and ended up saving him. ^{ch. 1192}

Weighing rank seven experts before a duel with Ye Lui Qun Xing, Fang Yuan places Domination Immortal Chu Du and Immortal Monkey King Shi Lei above ordinary rank sevens, and Feng Jiu Ge and Qin Bai Sheng, after regaining his memories, above even Chu Du. ^{ch. 1202}

After Fang Yuan’s battle at Reverse Flow River spreads his Liu Guan Yi fame across the five regions, he notes to himself that people are now putting him in the same class as Feng Jiu Ge. ^{ch. 1290}

While Fang Yuan considers a possible move against Lun Fei, narration states that with reverse flow protection seal active his offense stays weaker than Feng Jiu Ge’s, yet he can hold his own against him. ^{ch. 1317}

When Fang Yuan and Feng Jiu Ge meet again after the giant dream realm, narration names him a Central Continent pillar of Spirit Affinity House, a sound path rank seven who can battle rank eight, and a figure whose previous-life radiance in the five regions chaotic war surpassed ordinary rank eight Gu Immortals before he died in Lang Ya blessed land. At that point the world still expects him to join Heavenly Court later rather than treating him as a settled member. In the same meeting he states his old challenge-era line, that he is neither demonic nor righteous, that there is only Feng Jiu Ge in this world, and that whether to leave or to stay he decides his own life and death. ^{ch. 1388}

He blocks Wu Yong so Fang Yuan can escape, saying the favor of being saved is repaid, and that if he survives he will pursue Fang Yuan afterward. Fang Yuan reads that later pursuit as needed to protect Feng Jiu Ge’s wife and daughter and his righteous path standing. ^{ch. 1392} Heavenly Court Gu Immortals then hold him to a vow to pursue Fang Yuan and Shadow Sect. ^{ch. 1397} That vow is an order he accepts, not a chapter that states Heavenly Court membership.

Duke Long later tells him that Feng Jin Huang is the prospective Great Dream Immortal Venerable and that Feng Jiu Ge is her Dao Guardian, and assigns Fang Yuan as the obstacle he must eliminate. ^{ch. 1442} He leads a Heavenly Court strike on Lang Ya blessed land. ^{ch. 1550} He returns to Fairy Zi Wei with Gu Yue Fang Zheng, and she praises him as that Dao Guardian. ^{ch. 1549} He had saved Fang Zheng there. ^{ch. 1642} Later narration names him among the four Heavenly Court immortals facing Lang Ya. ^{ch. 1575}

Tracking Fang Yuan’s hideout in Western Desert, Feng Jiu Ge grabs a natural gust of wind, conceals an immortal killer move’s aura inside it, and rides the wind past a mortal illusion formation to reach the core of the Gu formation, where he discovers a tributary of the River of Time hidden beneath the sand. ^{ch. 1399}

Deep in the tunnel, Feng Jiu Ge subdues a monkey year beast that attacks him, inspects it and finds it a genuinely wild desolate beast rather than one of Fang Yuan’s arrangements, and takes it into his immortal aperture as spoils. He is discovered as he nears the tributary, and year beasts pour out of it against him, five desolate and three ancient at first and more than ten within moments. ^{ch. 1400}

He is extremely handsome. He smiles warmly with great flair and elegance. ^{ch. 1420}

Fighting Fang Yuan’s myriad dragon with drum fist and bell palm, Feng Jiu Ge cannot give chase when Fang Yuan retreats, because yang pass tune’s time limit had already run out from catching up to him earlier and the killer move needs fourteen hours before it can be used again. Fang Yuan reads the weakness out of his failure to use the move at all, calls the retreat on it, and Feng Jiu Ge can only smile bitterly as they go. ^{ch. 1422}

Half a month of waiting at the tributary of the River of Time passes without a trace of Fang Yuan, and Feng Jiu Ge is not shaken. Having battled Fang Yuan several times and seen his terrifying growth rate, he has already resolved to eliminate him as early as possible. ^{ch. 1436}

He advances to rank eight during a tribulation stretch in which hidden Gu Immortals congratulate him, and he treats the promotion as late and unexciting while planning a new song about destiny from an inspiration in The Legends of Ren Zu. ^{ch. 1685} In the fate war he appears as a rank eight Gu Immortal and fields the sound path rank eight immortal killer move Destiny Song. ^{ch. 1942}

During that war he turns Destiny Song against Heavenly Court, boosting the three regions’ side instead. Qin Ding Ling names the act betrayal, and the narration states that he joins Fang Yuan and the three regions’ allied forces. ^{ch. 1962} A following chapter frames the choice as returning from righteous path toward that same neither-demonic-nor-righteous stance, restating the challenge-era line as the measure of the break. ^{ch. 1965}

Long after the fate war he is still alive as a rank eight sound path great expert. He appears in the two heavens, collects a heavenly melody that had nearly killed Fairy Zi Wei and Ying Wu Xie, leaves without killing them, and tells them their circumstances have become similar. ^{ch. 2269}
