Chapter 886

At Luo Po Valley, in Northern Plains, a massed battle rages. Shadow Sect, having abandoned Lang Ya blessed land, makes its stand here with Qin Bai Sheng, Fairy Jiang Yu, Hui Feng Zi and He Lang Zi. Gu Immortals of Central Continent’s ten great ancient sects attack on Old Oracle’s deduction, but Luo Po Valley’s Gu formation delays them long enough for Qin Bai Sheng’s group to reinforce it. Using the immortal killer move Soul Suppression, Qin Bai Sheng forces three invading Gu Immortals back at once. Chen Zhen Chi, one of them, has lost to him three times running, and steadies himself in shock and fury. ^{ch. 886}

He Lang Zi and Hui Feng Zi drive back Fairy Ling Mei and Fairy Ao Xue with the transformation path move Fragrant Sorcerer Yin Statue Wolf Transformation and the wind path move Death Wind Flying Blade. Feng Jiu Ge answers with the sound path killer move Green Jade Song, wounding them both badly. Hui Feng Zi coughs up blood turned jade green. He Lang Zi fares worse: his wolf form has mostly turned to jade stone, and the move seems to block transformation path, leaving him unable to change back until the injury heals. ^{ch. 886}

Qin Bai Sheng shouts Feng Jiu Ge’s name in fury. Feng Jiu Ge concedes Qin Bai Sheng’s acting had deceived him, and credits a wisdom path ally’s deduction for finding the valley. Qin Bai Sheng denies destroying Eighty-Eight True Yang Building and vows Feng Jiu Ge will die for coming. He closes his eyes, lowers his head and raises a fist overhead. Only Feng Jiu Ge holds his ground as the rest retreat, asking whether this is Bo Qing’s five finger fist heart sword. Qin Bai Sheng confirms it and asks if he is prepared to die. ^{ch. 886}

Feng Jiu Ge explains the move is Bo Qing’s, his senior at Spirit Affinity House, whose inheritance reached a Northern Plains Gu Immortal after his failed tribulation. Sect records call it extremely powerful and sharp, and rumor says Bo Qing made it to show courage and pride in defying heaven and earth. Qin Bai Sheng sneers that Feng Jiu Ge must already sense his own defeat. Feng Jiu Ge answers that he also made a killer move, Heaven and Earth Song, born of feeling his own smallness against heaven and earth’s vastness, which borrows that strength to suppress all resistance. Qin Bai Sheng, eyes still closed, announces the first finger of his strike. ^{ch. 886}

At Central Continent’s Heavenly Court, the refinement path Gu formation completes its first stage, and Heaven Overseeing Tower Lord begins the second: drawing in heaven’s will, the material most needed to restore Fate Gu. He warns the stage ahead is extremely long and arduous and resisting heaven’s boundless will risks extremely severe injury or death, already costing several rank eight Gu Immortals. At Hu Immortal blessed land, Fang Yuan eats a giant horned sheep, feeding his strength path dao marks with eat strength Immortal Gu. Reviewing the Lang Ya defense, he counts two gains. His disguise as a vaguely familiar face fooled almost everyone, and he first used four star path killer moves: star cloud grindstone, star snake rope, six illusion star bodies and position star swap. He rotates his three remaining star path Immortal Gu, Star Mark, Starlight and Star Shoot, after one of Wan Xiang’s four was destroyed in battle. ^{ch. 886}

He rates his battle strength as peak rank six on star path alone, rising to rank seven on offense with myriad self. He can only stall veteran rank seven Gu Immortals, and has no hope against Qin Bai Sheng, a quasi rank eight like Feng Jiu Ge. So he mostly went with the flow, using myriad self giant hand only once, at the last moment. He kept Fixed Immortal Travel ready to flee if anything went wrong. In his previous life Lang Ya blessed land held off seven waves; this fourth may exceed it, and he wonders if he changed history. ^{ch. 886}

Even at full strength, Fang Yuan reflects, Qin Bai Sheng’s soul suppression would leave him powerless. The Legends of Ren Zu tells of Boundless Forest Samsara, separated from her father Ren Zu and left in ordinary abyss, crying herself to sleep daily. Her stirring throws down a miniman no bigger than her finger, who had been climbing on her. Curious rather than tearful for once, she asks who he is. He bursts into tears instead, and she asks why he weeps when she does not. ^{ch. 886}

He explains he had been his tribe’s tallest and proudest, until the mountain he meant to climb was a person, the first giant he saw, a shock the legend calls almost universal in exploring and growing. Fang Yuan recalls that in his previous life he too once wept, certain someone would always be stronger and eternal life impossibly far off. Smiling, he decides he remains that miniman climbing the mountain, in this life as the last. His insignificance is no excuse to stop chasing the goal; only the defeated make excuses. He will keep climbing however much it costs him. With that, he tears off another piece of bloody meat and bites down. ^{ch. 886}
