Heaven's Will

Heaven’s will is grand and vast. A human’s will is small and insignificant beside it. Heavenly Court Gu Immortals repairing fate Immortal Gu must draw heaven’s will in, then endure hundreds of days keeping consciousness intact under that inflow. ^{ch. 948}

Heaven’s will is a kind of will. If it cannot probe someone, it cannot send calamities and tribulations to that person. Divine concealment works on that rule: with heaven’s will unable to probe, ascension later attracts no heavenly tribulation or earthly calamity. Tribulations are not only danger; they are a major way Gu Immortals gain dao marks, so escaping them also caps that growth path unless other methods replace it. ^{ch. 949}

Tribulations that look like fireworks are still the work of heaven’s will, attempting to destroy those it targets. Cultivators can name heaven’s will their greatest enemy in that fight. ^{ch. 967} Shadow Sect planning that causes a huge commotion meets heaven’s will as obstruction, and further stages of such plans can draw still more terrifying opposition. ^{ch. 980}

Heaven’s will has limits and can be expended, but because its foundation is the world of the five regions it cannot be destroyed entirely and recovers at a rapid speed. Ying Wu Xie thinks his main body’s defiance of heaven to refine Gu expended heaven’s will greatly, and that it has already mostly recovered. ^{ch. 1044}

One of the main materials in refining fate Immortal Gu is heaven’s will. The same will drives tribulations. Heaven Overseeing Tower, which oversees the world and claims to follow heaven’s will, suffers far less tribulation damage than other Immortal Gu Houses under those strikes. ^{ch. 1007}
