Feng Jiu Ge calls for the killer move gentleman’s bamboo. Old Oracle walks out, grows a colorless crystal bamboo from his palm, and states that the move uses the rank six Immortal Gu Bamboo Gentleman as its core with six hundred and sixty mortal Gu complementing it, that it is used specially for detecting lies, and that it can work against rank seven Gu Immortals but not against rank eight. While Feng Jiu Ge questions Qin Bai Sheng, the bamboo shows no color change, which the group treats as proof that the answers are truthful. Feng Jiu Ge then splits the force so one group can protect Old Oracle while he deduces in peace. ^{ch. 768}

Trying to deduce the culprit behind the collapse of True Yang Building leaves him exhausted. His sideburns turn white, and his young face becomes much older and wrinkled. He walks out of a secret room and tells the other immortals his attainment was insufficient, then stays behind with Feng Jiu Ge and admits he had made a huge breakthrough and lied about failure because Feng Jiu Ge ordered the information concealed. Feng Jiu Ge says the deduction points to a member of the ten great sects of Central Continent and that he already suspected Ancient Soul Sect; Old Oracle confirms the sect gave him secret missions as well and leaves. ^{ch. 777}

A thunderbolt brushes past him, tears away almost half his body, and leaves him close to death. After he restores his body he mutters that he was not able to predict that thunderbolt. ^{ch. 813} After the hundred days battle at Luo Po Valley, Old Oracle from Ancient Soul Sect has died, along with two Gu Immortals from Spirit Butterfly Valley and Combat Immortal Sect. ^{ch. 922} Hong Chi Ming later speaks in his place now that Ancient Soul Sect’s Old Oracle had died, and the withdrawal talk repeats that Old Oracle has died while Feng Jiu Ge is trapped. ^{ch. 927}
