Grand Snow Power, Defeating Strong Foes

Lady Wan Shou looks up from Snowy Mountain blessed land toward Northern Plains’ sky. Yao Huang arrives, his presence dying the sky orange-yellow and shaking countless peaks, and asks Xue Hu’s pardon for the unannounced visit. Old Ancestor Xue Hu laughs and flies up to meet him, frost energy trailing behind, as ink clouds sweep in from the west with equal force. Lady Wan Shou’s expression falls: Heavenly Lord Bai Zu has come too, and the three powers divide the sky into three sections. ch. 813

Xue Hu needles Bai Zu for leaving his own force to join the commotion. Bai Zu answers that Miniscule Mountain is not worth Xue Hu’s trouble, urging its return to the righteous path. Facing both rank eights alone, Xue Hu only laughs and invites them to attack together before any more talk. He tears open the heavenly wind qi wall and flies into white heaven, since rank eights agree by custom to fight in the immemorial nine heavens and spare the surface. Yao Huang follows him in, and, reluctantly, so does Heavenly Lord Bai Zu. ch. 813

Explosions soon ring out from white heaven. From a great distance, the Central Continent Gu Immortals hear Feng Jiu Ge order them toward Snowy Mountain blessed land while the three stay occupied. An ancient desolate beast’s cry interrupts them, and they scatter. ch. 813

A remnant heavenly dog is beaten out of white heaven by mere repercussions of the fight, and dies in the crater it smashes open. Hailstones the size of small mountains fall, freezing countless living beings where they stand. A thunderbolt very nearly kills Old Oracle, tearing away almost half his body before he can pull free. ch. 813

In recent years Central Continent has had one character able to fight a rank eight at rank seven, Feng Jiu Ge. Barely concealed against the wind, the group senses Northern Plains’ rank eights may slightly exceed Central Continent’s own, since its constant battles leave fewer of them, hardened by the highest death rate of the five regions. The few who do reach rank eight there are never ordinary. ch. 813

Old Oracle recovers, still shaken he could not foresee it. Bu Fei Yan wonders if her speed could have dodged it, and asks whether they should continue. Chen Zhen Chi studies a sky patched into zones of dao marks. Less than a thousand li from Snowy Mountain blessed land, the ground here is filled with fatal traps. The group wishes to retreat rather than risk their lives just to capture someone. ch. 813

Only Feng Jiu Ge presses on, seemingly blind to the danger. None will say retreat aloud first, until Feng Jiu Ge halts and raises a hand for the group to stop. Those able to use immortal killer moves look past the barriers into white heaven. They cry out that Xue Hu holds a clear upper hand, forcing back both Yao Huang’s orange radiance and Bai Zu’s ink clouds. Feng Jiu Ge calls the chance lost, orders the retreat, and the group flees without another word. ch. 813

Heavenly Lord Bai Zu concedes defeat and praises Xue Hu’s methods. Yao Huang cites Northern Plains’ turbulence to withdraw his claim on Miniscule Mountain and take his leave. Xue Hu will not let them go, mocking their wish to come and go as they please. Endless frost energy sweeps the sky clear, and the ground freezes across a vast range, returning Northern Plains to winter cold. Three explosions shatter the world, breaking the Central Continent Gu Immortals’ concealment and bursting every eardrum among them but Feng Jiu Ge’s, so they flee outright. ch. 813

Snowy Mountain blessed land itself quakes, half-destroying six mountain peaks and ruining countless stored resources. Old Ancestor Xue Hu descends slowly from the sky. Pure white powder sheds from him on the wind. Feng Jiu Ge recognizes split heaven powder, meaning even white heaven was torn open. ch. 813

Snowy Mountain’s Gu Immortals rush out to greet Xue Hu, declaring Northern Plains’ strongest rank eight settled since Yao Huang and Bai Zu retreated. Lady Wan Shou alone draws close, proud and worried at once. Xue Hu explains that both rivals coveted Fortune Rivalling Heaven and hoped to stop him refining it. He beat them both, and dares anyone else in Northern Plains to disturb his work. He asks her to repair the sky he tore open, since desolate beasts will otherwise descend through it, harmless but persistent. Relieved to find her husband unhurt, Lady Wan Shou pokes his broad chest and calls him impossible in a fond, helpless tone. ch. 813
