Chapter 922

Fang Yuan feels not angered but somewhat pleased at Blazing Heaven Demoness’s overbearing order, since Shark Demon and Su Bai Man had sunk almost all their resources into taking Yu Lu blessed land only to have her seize it from them, badly crippling them. In his previous life, Fang Yuan recalls, Shark Demon and Su Bai Man died when shark sea was invaded by outsiders, and he wonders whether this scene is already part of that cause. Her interference does create a huge impact on his own plans, though. More than ten Gu Immortals took part, a scale unmatched in the five regions for a thousand years, yet both sides kept it secret throughout. He Lang Zi, who lost an arm, blames Feng Jiu Ge’s tactics of feigned mass charges for wearing Qin Bai Sheng down, but Qin Bai Sheng silences him, accepting the loss without excuse. He voices grudging admiration for Feng Jiu Ge, who built his own sound path killer move and used every advantage to win, calling that the true way of fighting. ^{ch. 922}

After the battle only five Shadow Sect members remain. They are Hui Feng Zi, Hei Cheng, Jiang Yu, He Lang Zi, and the mysterious black robed Gu Immortal. Xue Song Zi, once part of the group, was killed by Fang Yuan at Lang Ya blessed land, and two hairy man Gu Immortals who later joined were both killed by Central Continent during the hundred days battle. Central Continent lost more overall: Old Oracle, of Ancient Soul Sect, and two Gu Immortals from Spirit Butterfly Valley and Combat Immortal Sect died. Qin Bai Sheng insists the fight is not over: Central Continent’s side lacks unity, and if the group holds one more night, a crucial Immortal Gu ripening in the valley will complete their goal. He orders the five to break out the next day. He alone will stay behind to stall Central Continent. Everyone is shocked at what looks like courting death, and only Qin Bai Sheng, Jiang Yu, and the black robed Gu Immortal are Shadow Sect’s true core, the rest being outside reinforcements. The group rests in silence, and Hui Feng Zi, Hei Cheng, and He Lang Zi choose to rest together against a possible Shadow Sect betrayal, until Qin Bai Sheng secretly summons the three late that night. ^{ch. 922}
