Hei Lou Lan

His body is bulky like an angry bear. His uneven shiny white teeth are like daggers. His triangular eyes shine with threatening brilliance. ^{ch. 499}

Fang Yuan’s past-life memory has Hao Ji Liu offering Yan Cui Er to Hei Lou Lan and later rising as number three general. ^{ch. 472} In the present, Hao Ji Liu bets on young master Hei Lou Lan as the favourite for Imperial Court and plans to gift Yan Cui Er because of Hei Lou Lan’s known lecherous reputation and because she is Liu Wen Wu’s fiancée. ^{ch. 473} At Yu Tian heroes assembly the text places Hei tribe’s Hei Lou Lan opposite Liu tribe’s Liu Wen Wu as one of the two strongest remaining sides. ^{ch. 497}

When Fang Yuan arrives with Ge tribe and a huge wolf army, Hei Lou Lan greets Wolf King Chang Shan Yin. The scene gives him a bulky, bear-like body, uneven white teeth, and triangular eyes, and repeats the grassland talk of lechery. Fang Yuan proposes an alliance to exact revenge and join the Imperial Court contest; Hei Lou Lan accepts, several undecided tribes side with him, and he gifts a rank five turtle jade wolf skin Gu as a meeting gift. The same scene already treats him as Hei tribe leader. ^{ch. 499}

During the contest the text calls him a rank five Gu Master, ^{ch. 511} and Hei tribe’s army is listed with three rank five experts including Hei Lou Lan. ^{ch. 525} A battlefield summary also names him a dark path rank five opposite Liu Wen Wu’s light path rank five. ^{ch. 533} He leads the alliance into Imperial Court blessed land and is the first to ascend the ice ladder through the gate. ^{ch. 547} Inside the blessed land he is later treated as rank five peak stage. ^{ch. 612}

Hei Bai and Hei Cheng’s talk states that Hei Lou Lan has the ten extreme physique Great Strength True Martial, was adopted by Fairy Jiang Yu so dark limit Immortal Gu could preserve his life, and needs a strength path Immortal Gu to become a Gu Immortal and escape that physique’s threat. ^{ch. 528} Inside Imperial Court the text also calls him a rank five Gu Master with an extreme physique at the peak of mortals. ^{ch. 564} Hei Lou Lan’s own thinking matches that need: Eighty-Eight True Yang Building is his route to a strength path Immortal Gu and immortal ascension so he can avenge his mother. ^{ch. 565} On the surface he cultivates dark path; his real cultivation is strength path because of that physique, and he holds back strength path methods so as not to hasten the ten extreme disaster. ^{ch. 583}

She is a woman. ^{ch. 648} She is no longer an obese and fierce bear. She has a stimulating, charming body with sharp brows and bright eyes. She is a beautiful woman filled with a tyrannical aura. ^{ch. 649}

In the fight inside collapsing True Yang Building, Hei Lou Lan tears off the remaining Dark Limit membrane. The aura of Great Strength True Martial Physique bursts out, and the crowd sees that Lord Hei Lou Lan has become a woman. Onlookers link that reveal to the rumor of Su Xian’s Night Elopement and a daughter born to Hei Cheng. ^{ch. 648} She then allies with Fang Yuan against Giant Sun’s will, refuses to self-detonate on its order once she holds the borrowed strength path Immortal Gu, and bargains for protection during immortal ascension and help to kill her father. After she drops the Dark Limit seal, the text describes her true appearance as a beautiful woman with a tyrannical aura rather than the obese bear-like form she had shown. ^{ch. 649}

Later memory work states that her mother Su Xian Er left her a familial emotion and green grape immortal essence, which is why she could activate Immortal Gu while still a mortal in Imperial Court blessed land. ^{ch. 773} Su Xian Er had loved Hei Cheng and stayed in Hei tribe; Hei Cheng later killed her to prolong his own life, which is the core of Hei Lou Lan’s revenge. ^{ch. 946}

She begins immortal ascension as a Great Strength True Martial Physique Gu Master, releasing the seal on her aperture so the ten extreme aperture shatters and draws heaven and earth qi. ^{ch. 683} After the three qi infusion, the text states she has transcended mortals and become a Gu Immortal. ^{ch. 689} She is a strength path cultivator with that physique; self strength Immortal Gu is both a strength path Immortal Gu suited to her and a memento refined by Su Xian Er. ^{ch. 974}

With Blazing Heaven Demoness and Fairy Li Shan, she kills Hei Cheng, stomps on her father’s head, and captures his soul for interrogation. ^{ch. 944} During the Yi Tian Mountain battle she hides with Fairy Li Shan inside Tai Bai Yun Sheng’s immortal aperture until Fang Yuan calls them out to reinforce him. She remarks with a hint of admiration that Fang Yuan is good at putting himself in danger, then assesses Graceful Chaotic Duel Stage with her eyes shining. ^{ch. 1006} After the Yi Tian Mountain battle, Ying Wu Xie forces her into Shadow Sect. Her aunts Blazing Heaven Demoness and Fairy Li Shan have already died there, and she joins under pressure while still holding hatred and unfinished revenge. ^{ch. 1031} Ying Wu Xie removes all the information path dao marks of her old alliance agreement with Fang Yuan and binds her under a new alliance agreement as his subordinate who has to listen to his orders. Freed of the old agreement, she offers to lure Fang Yuan out with stargate Gu and exposes his secrets without mercy. ^{ch. 1038} At Earth Abyss she travels in Ying Wu Xie’s group with Tai Bai Yun Sheng and the rank seven variant human Gu Immortal Shi Nu, and she works with Ying Wu Xie to deceive Tai Bai Yun Sheng, who does not know the truth and is not suspicious of Ying Wu Xie. ^{ch. 1044} Fang Yuan privately judges her a formidable person who was not easy to control, but who has become much easier to deal with since her aunts died, and rates her Great Strength True Martial Physique, used well, as making her an excellent pawn. ^{ch. 1075}

When Fang Yuan recognizes Old Lord Can Yang’s life chasing fire and collapses his hundred and sixty thousand strength path phantoms, taking an intense backlash from forcibly halting Pulling Mountain, Hei Lou Lan moves at once to support him, but he evades her and shouts at her not to approach. ^{ch. 791}

When Fang Yuan points out that Dong Fang tribe’s headquarters sits at its weakest after Dong Fang Chang Fan sacrificed his own tribe’s Gu Immortals and possessed Dong Fang Yu Liang, Hei Lou Lan does not hesitate and flies straight for the headquarters to raid it. ^{ch. 794}

During the raid on Dong Fang tribe, Hei Lou Lan is already feeling regret over the all-out attack on captivating sea once Miniscule Mountain proves so strong. ^{ch. 801}

When Fang Yuan agrees to have Tai Bai Yun Sheng heal Miniscule Mountain, Hei Lou Lan offers to stay and defend Hu Immortal blessed land through its coming earthly calamity as the payment. ^{ch. 814}

Hei Lou Lan warns Fang Yuan that his hairy man losses run to at least a hundred a month, and when he considers modifying the Gu recipe to cut the risk, she judges that path too difficult and costly to attempt. ^{ch. 816}

With Hu Immortal blessed land already exposed, only Hei Lou Lan knows where the partially exposed Star Form blessed land lies, and Fang Yuan judges her too astute to move Dang Hun Mountain’s resources there without her noticing. ^{ch. 852}

An agreement bars Fang Yuan and Tai Bai Yun Sheng from summoning outside help, naming Fairy Li Shan and Hei Lou Lan among the outsiders they cannot call on. ^{ch. 868}

Fang Yuan reasons that a Great Strength True Martial Physique immortal zombie’s body could turn a revived immortal aperture into a super grade blessed land, and Hei Lou Lan, who ascended with that very physique, already holds one. Barred from targeting Zombie Alliance members, he concludes that she is the only optimal source of such a body and resolves that she has to be sacrificed for the ambition he is chasing. ^{ch. 939}

Recalling how his previous life went, Fang Yuan judges Hei Lou Lan formidable in her own right: in that life she killed her own father and disguised herself to enter Hei tribe. ^{ch. 973}

Because she no longer holds Hei Cheng’s soul in this life, Hei Lou Lan has no way to locate Luo Po valley, so Fang Yuan keeps its whereabouts from her while she instead makes frequent trips to Hu Immortal blessed land to refine airsac Gu alongside the hairy men. ^{ch. 992}

Trapped and believing she is about to die, Hei Lou Lan laments that Hei Cheng is still alive and that she cannot avenge her mother. ^{ch. 1009}

Once Shadow Sect obtains a portion of the light of the immemorial era, Hei Lou Lan gets straight to the point and asks how many refinement attempts it allows. ^{ch. 1060}

Under Ying Wu Xie she is named a strength and fire path cultivator among the remaining Shadow Sect immortals. ^{ch. 1152} After her strength path Immortal Gu are sent to Fang Yuan, she lacks strength path Immortal Gu for battle strength; in Eastern Sea she turns to fire path, which does not match the strength path dao marks in her body. Blazing Heaven Demoness had secretly handed her a fire path inheritance earlier; Hei Lou Lan had not expected to use it, then later focuses on fire path when events force the change, and she receives Blazing Heaven Demoness’s Immortal Gu through Ying Wu Xie’s line. ^{ch. 1256} Purple Mountain True Monarch later places her to train with that mix: strength path primarily along with fire path, few strength path Immortal Gu, many fire path Immortal Gu, and many fire path immortal killer moves from her aunt’s true inheritance. ^{ch. 1338}

Fang Yuan later rates her as the most “loyal” of the remaining Shadow Sect side, but only rank six in cultivation, with Great Strength True Martial Physique wasted on fire path cultivation and battle strength that can barely reach first rate among rank sevens through the Blazing Heaven true inheritance. ^{ch. 1376} In another fight analysis she still has the lowest cultivation level in the group at rank six. ^{ch. 1421}

As Bai Ning Bing readies himself for the white form immortal snake and no immortal present jokes about his shifting between man and woman, Hei Lou Lan is fierce and ambitious and does not care about such details. ^{ch. 1194}

Using the ancient battle formation’s Omni-directional Travel, Ying Wu Xie’s group arrives at Eastern Sea’s blue water regional wall; Tai Bai Yun Sheng has entered Hei Lou Lan’s immortal aperture, leaving four Gu Immortals visible before the wall. ^{ch. 1253}

When Fang Yuan’s dragon claw tears off her left arm and the blood will not stop, Hei Lou Lan chooses on the spot to transform into an immortal zombie to survive the injury. ^{ch. 1258}

Swept downstream in Reverse Flow River, Hei Lou Lan is the first to spot Fang Yuan behind the group and alerts Ying Wu Xie. ^{ch. 1278}

Swimming in Reverse Flow River, anger drives Hei Lou Lan forward; in her own thoughts she tells herself she has not yet avenged her mother and has not yet killed the man responsible with her own hands, urging herself to persevere until her energy runs out and the river washes her away. ^{ch. 1281}

When Old Ancestor Xue Hu demands to know who the Northern Plains Gu Immortal foiling his plan is, Hei Lou Lan, a Shadow Sect member who cannot expose Fang Yuan’s true identity, gives his other identity and names him Liu Guan Yi. ^{ch. 1282}

Shang clan Gu Immortal Shang Guai Li turns his hand into a white bone claw and rips through her defenses, leaving five deep wounds across her back. As he gloats that her life is his next, her burning flesh ignites Flesh Blood Fire along his claw, and she laughs at how easily he fell for it. ^{ch. 1351} Shang Guai Li tries to retreat, but flames burst from his mouth and eyes until he burns to death, and Hei Lou Lan tells him rank seven cultivation made no difference. ^{ch. 1354}

During private talks meant to sound out Shadow Sect’s members, Fang Yuan tells Hei Lou Lan that a huge enough contribution could see her alliance agreement lifted and her freedom restored. ^{ch. 1379}

Trapped by an enemy formation short of the eerie fire tunnel, Hei Lou Lan suspects Fang Yuan set her up as a lure so he could buy time to escape. ^{ch. 1384}

Ordered into Fang Yuan’s immortal aperture ahead of Wu Yong’s attack, Hei Lou Lan enters first, having feared Fang Yuan would instead use the alliance agreement to send her to face Wu Yong as a sacrifice. ^{ch. 1387}

Even restrained by Shadow Sect’s alliance agreement, Hei Lou Lan’s ambitions keep growing, and she has no intention of staying Fang Yuan’s obedient subordinate forever. ^{ch. 1396}

Reminded by Sixth Hair’s suggestion about cleanse soul Immortal Gu, Fang Yuan reckons to himself that Hei Lou Lan is bound by their alliance agreement and unable to betray him, but that she is ambitious and will never be content with the current state, only lacking a way to revolt for the moment. ^{ch. 1444}

Immortal Zombie Giant Sun sends her into Myriad Beast Fusion Color Heaven. There her Great Strength True Martial Physique counts as the sacred physique. Blue Phoenix elders, treating her as Lu Tong Lan’s daughter in that arrangement, state that she has rank seven cultivation level, still short of what winning the Myriad Tribes Ceremony would need. ^{ch. 2113} With Desolate Extremity Lu Tong Lan’s support her dark capital strength tiger totem reaches greater success, and Lu Tong Lan rates that move as peak among rank sevens. She expends rank seven immortal essence to call the totem out. ^{ch. 2115} Under the alias Black Moon she challenges Northern Plains experts, wins without defeat for a stretch, and gathers lone and demonic immortals around that reputation. ^{ch. 2188} As Fairy Black Moon she displays peak rank seven battle strength comparable to rank eight strength, with rumors that she inherited from Reckless Savage. ^{ch. 2202} When she challenges Chu Du, onlookers treat the fight as a rare contest of strength path, and her sudden appearance shocks Gu Immortals who had counted Chu Du as the public strength path expert of the five regions. ^{ch. 2213}

By the time she enters Moon Field Slope, Hei Lou Lan’s reputation as Blue Phoenix Tribe’s Sacred Child has already spread too widely to escape notice. On the ceremony’s bonfire night a tribe leader’s son and then an elderly rank eight Gu Immortal each bring immortal materials to proposition her, and she rejects both on the spot. Inside Myriad Beast Fusion Color Heaven, where dark and rough skin is the standard of beauty, she counts as an ugly woman rarely seen in a hundred years, and she is pestered until daybreak. ^{ch. 2114}
