Hoodwinking the Land Spirit
Inside his immortal aperture, Tai Bai Yun Sheng sees the tribulation clouds thin and the silver horn green scale python shrink to one-tenth of its size. He thanks Eighty-Eight True Yang Building, whose Divert Disaster light keeps the calamity off him. The light suddenly dissipates. Chaotic lightning balls strike him unprepared, his mind turns chaotic, and he flies about in disorder. The building then captures him with an absolutely powerful absorption force. ch. 612
Giant Sun’s will can neither sacrifice divert disaster Gu nor let Tai Bai Yun Sheng die. Throwing him out of the blessed land would be best, but only Frost Jade Peacock could do that, so the will helplessly settles for an inferior method. Having taken him in, Eighty-Eight True Yang Building becomes the target as the tribulation clouds and calamity dust surge over it. To protect his life, Giant Sun’s will chooses to resist the heavenly tribulation and earthly calamity by force. The onlookers are stunned. Backlash from using Gu worms under the tribulation disturbs coordination inside the rank eight Immortal Gu house. ch. 612
Inside the building, Frost Jade Peacock flees among the giant trees, which turn into treemen to block it while five Immortal Gu pursue. It tears through three old treemen but slows greatly, and a metal path Immortal Gu catches it and covers it in a thick golden shell. A second Immortal Gu floods its mind with an intense urge to sleep. It crashes head first onto the ground, unable to fly. ch. 612
Rather than be sealed, Frost Jade Peacock gives off an intense suicidal will and draws out heaven and earth qi, the foundation of Imperial Court blessed land, to intensify the tribulation and calamity. The blessed land arose from a space path Gu Immortal, and Tai Bai Yun Sheng is a time path Gu Immortal. If it swallowed his aperture, space and time could converge, extremely likely lifting it to a grotto-heaven and letting the land spirit expel the building. But Giant Sun’s will is truly too resolute and bears the damage to keep him alive. The added qi makes the chaotic lightning balls multiply tenfold and the restraining smoke grow into a deadly smoke calamity that blackens the walls. Eighty-Eight True Yang Building fills with scars. Its eaves collapse and a crack opens in the outer wall. ch. 612
The drained foundation leaves countless holes to the outside, and the blizzard that strikes northern plains every ten years pours in. Divert disaster Gu is hibernating, and the blizzard is the calamity and tribulation of Imperial Court blessed land itself. The building can resist the lightning balls and black smoke but not this blizzard. If this continues, the blessed land will erode and crumble. ch. 612
One way out is to activate divert disaster Gu, which would turn the tribulations and calamities into heaven qi and earth qi for the blessed land to take in, steadying its foundation and closing the link to northern plains. Giant Sun’s will can risk forcing the Gu, but the intake needs Frost Jade Peacock’s cooperation, which he calls an impossible dream. The only way he sees is for the land spirit to acknowledge a pair of new owners. Giant Sun’s will does not know that Tai Bai Yun Sheng’s aperture holds landscape as before Immortal Gu, which could deal with this trouble conveniently. The land spirit acknowledges owners only as a couple in true love. Yet nothing is absolute, and false emotion fake will Gu, another Immortal Gu he holds, can hoodwink it when used on two candidates. Because the Gu contains his will, two unconnected people made owners this way leave him the initiative, and while he holds the Gu he can select two new candidates if they turn disloyal. ch. 612
Giant Sun’s will has Eighty-Eight True Yang Building inspect candidates. Elsewhere people flee with many casualties while snow monsters rise to devour targets. The building can plunder resources from the whole of northern plains, so two people before it are no difficulty. The will soon selects two candidates of Giant Sun’s bloodline, and Hei Lou Lan, at rank five peak stage, is absorbed into True Yang Building without the strength to resist. Ma Hong Yun, still running frantically and unaware of the change, bumps head first into a giant tree. ch. 612
