Chapter 613

Ma Hong Yun wakes on the floor rubbing his reddened forehead and finds the blizzard gone, replaced by a warm, spring-like ancient forest of trees hundreds of metres tall. A voice suddenly speaks inside his and Hei Lou Lan’s ears. Ma Hong Yun cries out in fear and hides behind Hei Lou Lan, and the voice answers that it is no ghost, only a remnant will inferior to even a ghost. ^{ch. 613}

Golden speckles of light condense into a figure resembling Giant Sun, and Hei Lou Lan, recognizing him, presses his hands to his chest and greets him as Ancestor Giant Sun. Giant Sun’s will explains that a man has broken into True Yang Building and undone the seal on the land spirit Frost Jade Peacock, putting Imperial Court blessed land on the brink of crisis. Giant Sun’s will explains the situation concisely, and Hei Lou Lan understands at once why True Yang Building had been helping Tai Bai Yun Sheng. His heart jumps. The will means for him to become an owner of Imperial Court blessed land, which carries tremendous benefit. Hei Lou Lan works out that the blessed land’s ownership condition is special and needs two owners. He reasons that this is why Giant Sun Immortal Venerable, who loved his empress greatly, arranged for her to stay in the sacred palace with half the ownership. He wonders how Ma Hong Yun was chosen as the second owner, suspecting Giant Sun’s will sees him as an easier pawn to control, though he keeps his disdain hidden with Giant Sun’s will present. ^{ch. 613}

Ma Hong Yun instead protests that Lady Xiao Yun and his wife Xiao Li, whom the chapter names as Zhao Lian Yun and Chang Li, are still outside, and he pleads to be released to save them. Chang Biao had married his adopted daughter Chang Li to him. The aim was to coax Ma Ying Jie. Giant Sun’s will refuses to release him, insists he cooperate and become an owner, and promises to save the two women himself. Inside his mind, Mo Yao urges retreat, arguing that Giant Sun’s will, now awakened and wanting Fang Yuan dead, is too occupied to pursue him. Fang Yuan refuses outright. He grips the glass owner token, a crucial trump card he has not yet expended. Central continent’s Gu Immortals left three methods for dealing with Giant Sun’s will, and the token is the key to all three. He has already spent the first two, a special will Gu formation and a seal on Giant Sun Immortal Venerable’s yellow apricot immortal essence. Treemen bring forward the immobilized Frost Jade Peacock, named as the blessed land’s land spirit, and Giant Sun’s will sends false emotion fake will Gu toward it as Hei Lou Lan and Ma Hong Yun stand before it.
