Ma Ying Jie

After Ma tribe swallows Fei tribe at warm pond valley, elders congratulate the young man at the center for planning Fei internal discord so the ambush could take the valley. The text names him Ma tribe’s young tribe leader Ma Ying Jie: wide back, thin waist, sharp brows, bright eyes, rank four middle stage, enslavement path, and already called Little Ma Zun. ^{ch. 488}

Warm pond valley speech

He treats the valley as a defendable base of warm pools before the blizzard, points elders at Imperial Court blessed land and Eighty Eight True Yang Building, and borrows uncle Ma Zun’s prestige while fabricating praise in that uncle’s name. ^{ch. 489} Later text states that after Fei tribe fell, Fei Cai was chosen as his personal servant. ^{ch. 520}

Clean freak habits

Every guest who enters his tent must change shoes so the carpet stays clean, and the text calls him a clean freak. Fei Cai’s daily job is washing and replacing those shoes. When Fei Cai is framed for stealing the pair Ma Ying Jie usually wears, Ma Ying Jie nearly executes him, then accepts a silk wrap story because he is obsessed with cleanliness and would have been disgusted by shoes held bare against clothes. He then makes Fei Cai head of the slaves. ^{ch. 520 ch. 521}
