Ma You Liang

He lies on a stretcher. He has lost an arm and his right leg is fractured, with severe injuries. The text also calls him crippled. ^{ch. 544} Zhao Lian Yun later calls him handicapped. ^{ch. 578}

Warm pond valley counsel

Back at warm pond valley he points Ma Ying Jie to dried spirit spring C among the valley’s remaining springs. When Hei Lou Lan surrounds the valley and demands surrender, Ma You Liang sits stiffly and analyzes Black Tyrant’s pressure under Ancestor Giant Sun’s rules. Asked how many Ma-surname tribesmen remain, he answers only over one hundred and thirty. He hesitates when Ma Ying Jie plans to bestow the Ma surname on outsiders, then nods once the leader says Huang Jin bloodline will be guarded and the surname can be stripped later if the tribe recovers. ^{ch. 545}

Remaining rank three elder

Zhao Lian Yun later says the declined Ma tribe has only one rank three elder, Ma You Liang, and that he is handicapped, while Ma Ying Jie as new tribe leader still lacks usable subordinates. ^{ch. 578}
