Mechanic Gu Constructs

A Gu house is a dwelling or structure made of Gu. Simple ones use a single Gu; complex ones combine many Gu. The term covers mortal living stock and caravan structures, and is not the same subject as Immortal Gu Houses.

On Qing Mao mountain, Jia Fu’s caravan fields a Gu house even though it is at most middle-scale. Large-scale caravans usually keep two or three Gu houses, and Gu houses are something only large-scale caravans normally have. That caravan Gu house appears as an eighteen-meter tree built from the rank three plant Gu named three star cave, with three interior layers stronger than ordinary tents. ch. 109

Houses made of Gu

Gu houses are houses made of Gu. Simple Gu houses use one Gu. Complex Gu houses combine many Gu. Southern border caravans that travel mountains and forests use such Gu houses. In northern plains, Gu Masters live in Gu houses rather than tents, and a family living in one needs at least one Gu Master. Ordinary northern plains Gu houses are not tall trees like three star cave, which would draw lightning in heavy rain; house lizard Gu is named as the common form Fang Yuan first sees there, with mushroom forest Gu houses for elders and affluent Gu Masters. ch. 439

After Ge tribe takes Zheng tribe camp, an elder reports a Gu house secret room among the spoils still being opened. ch. 481 After the same campaign, Fang Yuan rests while cheers rise outside the Gu house as Ge tribesmen celebrate. ch. 484
