Appearance
Fang Yuan walks the merman Sacred City in Chu Ying’s appearance with his aura concealed like a mortal. Streets are busy. Shops and houses stand in orderly scale-like rows; most merman houses use seashell or conch designs, huge shells and conchs, or modified shells of giant crabs and turtles, and a few Gu houses mark wealth and authority. With the Sea God Ceremony near, the entire Sacred City oozes a joyful and festive atmosphere. At the center of Sacred City people gather, singing and dancing, and several mermaid girls emerge as contestants for that year’s saintess competition. ch. 1663

Elder politics
Elders of merman Sacred City press from above while subordinates scheme and covet positions. Frost Tide tribe’s leader intends to push down Xie Han Mo and promote his own pawn to the saintess position, then use a puppet saintess to issue policies for Sacred City that would clear his corrupted history. Saintess Palace and departure
After the Sea God Ceremony ends, Xia Lin becomes saintess against every expectation. Saintess Palace shines with bright and gorgeous lights as servants run around, and Xia Lin changes into white saintess attire with her tail on a lump of clouds. Her elder sister Zhao Lu visits Saintess Palace and explains the saintess duty tied to Demon Suppression Regret Crying Sea. Fang Yuan accepts a related task and is teleported back to Sacred City. Saintess Xia Lin then stands on a giant tortoise slowly advancing from the city toward Demon Suppression Regret Crying Sea. ch. 1674
