House Lizard Gu is a rank two Gu house common in Northern Plains camps. It looks like a many-colored lizard large enough to live in, and it walks with the tribe when the camp relocates.
At Ge tribe’s camp in Northern Plains, Fang Yuan first sees House Lizard Gu as the ordinary Gu Master dwelling after the mortal tent ring. ch. 439
Appearance
This rank two Gu looks like a lizard of many colors. Dark green, sky blue and milky white are the ones most often seen. Each lizard is as big as a bus. Its two eyes serve as windows, and both flanks have windows too. It sprawls on the ground with its mouth open, and the mouth holds the door. When the tribe relocates, the lizard gets up and moves on four strong limbs. ch. 439
Inside is a long passage with rooms on both sides and a toilet at the end for temporary waste. When waste builds up, the lizard lifts its tail and empties the toilet. A family living in one needs at least one Gu Master. ch. 439
Travel with the tribe
The lizard house Gu are very prominent when Ge tribe’s column moves. They move forward like elephants on huge legs. Fang Yuan lies inside one with his eyes closed, resting his mind as he meditates. ch. 459
Larger form
Large lizard house Gu is rank three, advanced from the rank two form. The rank two body is already as big as a bus, with a pathway inside that splits into rooms on both sides. The large form is five times that size, with two storeys, more rooms and more space. ch. 507
