Hei Bai is a rank six Hei tribe Gu Immortal in Northern Plains, a former Hei tribe leader nicknamed Hei tribe rockman.

In Ni Yu blessed land he greets Dong Fang Chang Fan as junior Hei Bai. Dong Fang Chang Fan recalls that seventy years earlier he was still Hei tribe leader, one step from Imperial Court, before losing by one move to Liu tribe, and names him commonly known as Hei tribe rockman among those of that generation who remained standing. He hands Dong Fang Chang Fan the resource list for redeeming Dong Fang tribe captives under Giant Sun Immortal Venerable’s rules after Hei tribe’s win. ch. 519

Support for Hei Lou Lan

He takes a fancy to Tai Bai Yun Sheng, guides and rescues him many times, and later sends a letter asking him to aid Hei tribe when the army is in trouble. ch. 524 With Hei Cheng he is one of Hei tribe’s Gu Immortals supporting Hei Lou Lan through the Imperial Court contest from Xiao Hun blessed land. ch. 537 A later scene calls him Hei tribe stoneman in youth: awkward in talk, smart and careful inside. He invests toward Immortal Gu Wooden Chicken in Eighty-Eight True Yang Building and treats Hei Lou Lan’s entry as the route to that Gu. ch. 528

Wood path blizzard hunts

He and Hei Cheng hunt snowman tribes in the ten-year blizzard as rank six wood path Gu Immortal Hei Bai, both to sell captives and to pressure Xue Song Zi after wooden chicken Gu slipped away. ch. 587 Hei Lou Lan later notes that the first round’s reward Gu worms came from Hei Bai, which lets the killer move grey meltdown exploit Giant Sun’s will before those Gu are fully refined. ch. 595
