Chapter 773

A woman resembling Hei Lou Lan but gentler comes out dressed as an attendant. Fang Yuan recognizes her as Su Xian Er. The tribe leader, his cup empty, scolds her for not serving their guest, and she pours wine for Hei Cheng, whose eyes stay on her face until she finishes, when he stands and asks her name. The tribe leader explains she was a girl he brought back from the battlefield, treated like a daughter despite her status as an attendant. ^{ch. 773}

After the banquet, the tribe leader secretly gathers his elders. They plan to kill the drunk Hei Cheng that night, despite one elder’s worry that Hei tribe is a super force. The leader argues success would let the whole tribe move to Snowy Mountain blessed land, escaping the Imperial Court contest and the ten year blizzard. He adds that refusing, or even warning Hei tribe, would still bring the wrath of the fairy who saved them, since she could destroy them just as easily. ^{ch. 773}

Shaken, the elders agree. The leader warns that Hei Cheng does not travel alone and has no less than five hidden experts guarding him. Fang Yuan, among them, is assigned to support two other Gu Masters against the strongest enemies, since as medicine hall elder he is a healing Gu Master weak in offense and defense. ^{ch. 773}

The dream shifts to a second scene: night, bright moon, strong wind. A rank three Hei tribe Gu Master confronts the group, accusing them of daring to attack Hei Cheng, and two Su tribe elders charge him while Fang Yuan hangs back to support. Not yet finding Hei Lou Lan, Fang Yuan guesses only killing this Gu Master will open a third scene, and heals his side with wood path Gu. The Hei tribe Gu Master has the upper hand at first, but Fang Yuan’s healing turns the intense battle into a deadlock, until the wounded Gu Master charges out and attacks Fang Yuan directly. ^{ch. 773}
