Gu Yue Yao Ji

On the Jia caravan treehouse on Qing Mao Mountain, Fang Yuan recognizes her at once as the medicine hall’s clan elder: the medicine hall is the clan’s support faction and its most lucrative department, and her seniority lets her answer the clan leader while seated. She is a rank three elder whose belt carries a square silver piece marked “3”, and she is the number one healing Gu Master, whose past saves give her a strong network among the elders. ^{ch. 110 ch. 124} Reaching rank three cultivation automatically makes a Gu Master a clan elder, though power still differs among elders who hold rich offices and those who do not. ^{ch. 110} Caravan staff treat her influence as second only to Gu Yue Bo, and would rather offend Gu Yue Chi Lian or Gu Yue Mo Chen than offend her. ^{ch. 111}

In the River Swallowing Toad crisis she sits among the elders as medicine hall’s Gu Yue Yao Ji, and argues against a massacre of commoners at the gate as a poor look before other villages. ^{ch. 118} On the treehouse’s third floor she names white silver Relic Gu for her granddaughter and explains the Relic Gu ranks beside it. ^{ch. 111}

She dotes on her granddaughter Gu Yue Yao Le, bidding for a Liquor worm at the caravan as a gift before the girl’s awakening. ^{ch. 110 ch. 111} Later, she presses Fang Yuan through Gu Yue Qing Shu to sell that same worm for Yao Le’s sake. Qing Shu names Yao Le as medicine hall elder Gu Yue Yao Ji’s granddaughter, a new student with B grade aptitude. ^{ch. 123} During the wolf tide Yao Ji leads the healing Gu Masters, tracks Nine Leaf Vitality Grass collection, and treats Yao Le’s front-line healing work as political capital for inheriting the medicine hall. ^{ch. 149}

When a frenzy lightning wolf breaks the eastern gate, Yao Ji races out, hits it with rank three Moon Poison Gu, and is then tied down in that fight while Yao Le is thrown outside the village. ^{ch. 150} After three days of failed search she still rages in the medicine hall and refuses to accept that Yao Le is gone. ^{ch. 152 ch. 154}

She had already wanted Fang Yuan’s Liquor worm as a rank three fusion ingredient for herself after giving one to Yao Le, and she wanted his Nine Leaf Vitality Grass because the clan’s vitality-leaf trade sits under medicine-hall control. ^{ch. 147} Using the wolf tide’s rising casualties, the medicine hall orders all Nine Leaf Vitality Grass holders to hand the Gu over for unified production; Fang Yuan reads that notice as Yao Ji’s move against him under clan righteousness. ^{ch. 148}

When Fang Yuan returns as rank three, she storms the clan leader pavilion, demands to inspect his aperture as medicine hall elder, and loses the hall once Chi Lian is forced to back Fang Yuan’s breakthrough story. ^{ch. 153} Fang Yuan then attacks her search parties as a waste of healing Gu Masters while injured clansmen wait, and Chi Lian, pressed into supporting a temporary revocation of her medicine hall title, leaves her so enraged that she vomits blood and faints. ^{ch. 154} Gu Yue Bo then has Gu Yue Chi Zhong temporarily lead the medicine hall to balance medicine-faction and Chi-faction rivalry, and Chi Zhong later gets Fang Yuan to transfer the Nine Leaf Vitality Grass as a peer transaction rather than Yao Ji’s earlier forced order. ^{ch. 157 ch. 158}

To stay out of the battlefield mission against the thunder crown wolf, she breaks her own arm and claims injury; Fang Yuan names that act in the banquet hall, a decisive and ruthless self-maim. ^{ch. 171 ch. 172} The medicine faction stays strong after Chi Lian dies and Mo Chen falls, and whether Yao Ji chooses to stay independent or lean on the clan leader decides whether that faction snatches weakened Chi and Mo strength. ^{ch. 174}

She remains medicine faction family head after losing the medicine hall seat to Chi Zhong and losing an arm, with almost none of her former authority left, and she decides the way back is to devour the Mo faction by destroying its hope in Fang Yuan. Guarding the clan’s forbidden grounds, she secretly brings Tie Xue Leng and Tie Ruo Nan into the underground records room so they can read Gu Yue official history. ^{ch. 178 ch. 180} When the three-clans battlefield collapses, she is still in the village and sees the injured remnants return without Gu Yue Bo. ^{ch. 191}

The fan translation writes the name as Gu Yue Yao Ji, with Lord Yao Ji, elder Yao Ji, and medicine hall elder used as address or office titles around the same person. ^{ch. 110 ch. 123} No Chinese characters for her personal name appear in the English chapter text used here. Granny Yao Ji is used as another address form for her. ^{ch. 124} The same files mark her rank three by the elder belt, the automatic elder rule, and the plain “rank three Gu Master” line, without a peak, upper, middle, or initial stage label inside that rank. ^{ch. 110 ch. 124} The remnant-return scene in chapter 191 is her last named appearance in those files; later chapters do not state her death or survival past it. ^{ch. 191} Chapter 138 once prints “Gu Yue Yao Ji” inside Qing Shu’s rank two field group during the Bai Ning Bing chase; the surrounding speakers are that group’s juniors, so that line is treated here as a translation slip, not as Yao Ji joining that pursuit. ^{ch. 138}
