Gu Yue Bo states he is here due to Jia Fu’s request to investigate that murder case, and Tie Xue Leng confirms it, then places his daughter Tie Ruo Nan in charge of the investigation. ^{ch. 170} Before the feast invite, he tells Gu Yue Bo she has learnt at least 80% of his abilities and will work under his guidance. ^{ch. 171} Later he tells her that spectating from the side is not enough, so he handed her the case and tests her next step; she answers by surveying Gu Yue village before digging into case details. ^{ch. 173} After she names Fang Yuan as extremely suspicious from cultivation speed and rock-gambling luck, he answers, “Yes, continue.” ^{ch. 176} His daughter says her uncle is the current Tie clan leader. In Southern Border, Tie clan is a first class powerhouse with strong foundations. ^{ch. 182}
