Bladewing Blood Bat Gu

Bladewing blood bat was the Blood Sea Ancestor’s first fusion accomplishment, ahead of blood frenzy Gu and blood guillotine. He was a rank seven demonic path Gu Master researching Gu that could still absorb natural primeval essence after refinement; this recipe was the earliest of the three he finished before righteous path traps defeated him. After fatal wounds he seeded hundreds of thousands of inheritance grounds from the Middle Continent to the Southern Border and elsewhere. ^{ch. 183}

In Fang Yuan’s previous life, after over four hundred years, he obtained a Blood Sea Ancestor inheritance, used colonies of these bats with rank five cultivation to become a regional overlord, and made the bladewing blood bat the symbol of Bloodwing Devil Sect, which could support close to ten thousand of them. On Qing Mao Mountain he wonders whether Flower Wine Monk’s near-death wounds in the Photo-audio Gu image came from these bats rather than Moonshadow Gu. ^{ch. 183} That guess is never confirmed. An intense battle with First gen Gu Yue and an escape along the Thousand Li Earthwolf Spider path instead account for the Monk’s blood-bathed state. ^{ch. 188}

Righteous Gu pressure leaves the bats frantic and struggling to stay aloft, which keeps them from hunting Fang Yuan for a time. ^{ch. 184}

First gen Gu Yue brings almost a thousand bladewing blood bats out of the blood lake and cave ceiling against Tie Xue Leng’s giant puppet, together with rank five Blood Guillotine. The bats are rank three close-combat Gu whose numbers can pressure even a rank five opponent, but rank six Gu aura dominates them completely. Under a Gu Master’s command the bat army holds formation; without that control the difference is stark. Heaven Earth Magnificent Sound Gu, used at full power through the puppet, kills nearby bladewing blood bat Gu and throws farther groups into disorder. ^{ch. 186}

In a narrow tunnel Fang Yuan faces close to a hundred bats without First gen Gu Yue present. Internal friction among uncontrolled bats leaves him fighting only thirty to forty at once, and he kills the sole male of that group with Chainsaw Golden Centipede to scatter the rest. ^{ch. 187} First gen Gu Yue later sends bat groups to seize Fang Yuan for the Heavenly Essence Treasure Lotus. ^{ch. 188 ch. 197} Fang Yuan kills the male of one group, scatters the rest, and uses polluted Thunderwings Gu as bait while he flees. The bats fly too fast, with wings sharp like blades, for him to capture any without an iron hand grappling Gu. ^{ch. 188}

Lord Sky Crane later rages that both the blood guillotine and the bladewing blood bat Gu were supposed to be his, after First gen Gu Yue sent countless bats with the guillotines against the crane flock. Beside Blood Guillotine, the bats are much smaller than Iron Beak Flying Cranes and gain movement advantage from that size. First gen Gu Yue orders blood guillotine and bladewing blood bat Gu to cut Raise Eyebrows and Exhale Gu’s white eyebrows, then turns them on Lord Sky Crane when cutting fails. ^{ch. 192} When Lord Sky Crane attacks the village, First gen Gu Yue pulls the bats and guillotines back to defend it. ^{ch. 193} He still later sends large numbers of them against a glacier to slow it. ^{ch. 195}

While training dog groups for San Cha Mountain, he recalls commanding numerous beast groups across five hundred years, especially blade-wing blood bats from the Blood Sea inheritance. ^{ch. 346}

Jiang Wan Shan tells Dong Fang Yu Liang he was not an enslavement path Gu Master from the start. He found a Blood Sea Ancestor small inheritance on an expedition, obtained a bladewing blood bats group there, and has been gathering relevant enslavement path Gu worms slowly ever since. ^{ch. 506} In the later battle his four-winged blood-colored bats join with knife-sharp wings, and Fang Yuan names the force Jiang Wan Shan’s bladewing blood bats group. Fang Yuan then calls that group’s offensive power very sharp and notes that his wolf group cannot answer aerial attacks. ^{ch. 511} After that Northern Plains battle the novel does not show another on-stage colony of Bladewing Blood Bat Gu under a new named holder.
