Its ability is to materialize a pair of thunder wings and let a Gu Master fly for a short duration. ^{ch. 155} The wings are formed by lightning: they are fast in a straight line, but not flexible in tight turns. ^{ch. 167} Speed is high and primeval expenditure is also high, which matters for a C grade rank three Gu Master with a small essence sea. ^{ch. 159} Fang Yuan treats it as powerful temporary flight that still costs too much essence to use freely. ^{ch. 157} In his six-classification kit he counts Thunderwings for movement, beside attack, defense, storage, and recon Gu. ^{ch. 161}

In the blood cave he cannot control the thunderwings as before. The clear blue thunder stains with scarlet and feels both powerful and weak at once; the Gu may drop him mid-flight. ^{ch. 183} Moving along the cave walls with Chainsaw Golden Centipede and Thunderwings Gu, the wings grow weak and lethargic. The Gu draws less primeval essence from him and begins to absorb essence from the surrounding air while growing weaker. Fang Yuan links that pattern to Blood Frenzy Gu. Without a special Gu to clean it, the half-crippled Thunderwings Gu will turn into blood water and become a new pollution source, and it starts to become uncontrollable. ^{ch. 184}
