Blood Frenzy Gu

Without a special Gu to clean the corruption, an infected Gu can become a new pollution origin as it dissolves into blood water. That cleaner is left unnamed. If Blood Frenzy Gu enters a Gu Master’s body and aperture, most of that Master’s Gu worms can be corrupted. ^{ch. 184}

Fang Yuan recognizes Blood Frenzy Gu when his Thunderwings Gu starts taking less primeval essence from him, absorbs essence from the air, and grows weaker and harder to control. He concludes the blood lake water holds a Blood Frenzy Gu, and that Sky Canopy Gu’s white armor is what kept the infection out of his aperture. The Thunderwings Gu is already half crippled; without a cleaning Gu it will turn into blood water and become a new pollution source. ^{ch. 184}

When dense bloody fog rises from the lake, Fang Yuan names Blood Frenzy Gu and flees into a tunnel. ^{ch. 185} Later the Thunderwings Gu reaches its limits and starts to go uncontrollable, so he forces it off his back and discards it behind him; bladewing blood bats tear it apart before it can finish dissolving into a new pollution source. ^{ch. 188}

The Thousand Li Earthwolf Spider that once served the Flower Wine Monk was corrupted by Blood Frenzy Gu in an earlier fight at the same place. After Fang Yuan wakes it from its cocoon hundreds of years later, the infection still acts up: the spider absorbs natural essence, digs at random, and slips his control. ^{ch. 189} He abandons it when it is about to turn into a pool of blood water. ^{ch. 190}

Fang Yuan also expects Demon Suppression Iron Chain Gu and Problem Nipped in the Bud Gu to be corrupted next, turn into blood water, and die; the iron chains soon do dissolve into blood and free their captive. ^{ch. 197} After Tie Xue Leng sends Mountain Giant Puppet Gu and Iron Fist Grappling Gu to get his daughter clear, those two Gu likewise prove already infected and turn into a pool of blood not long after finishing the task. ^{ch. 202}
