After Moonshadow Gu restricted his primeval essence, he used the Thousand Li Earthwolf Spider to dig a tunnel and secretly reach the spirit spring area so he could refine Heavenly Essence Treasure Lotus. ^{ch. 163}

Fang Yuan finds the Gu sealed in a rock-wall cocoon: pitch black with a metallic glow, thick chest and back armor, and three pairs of legs tipped with spiral drill feelers. He refines the weakened rank five Gu, notes it is a large steed-type Gu that eats soil and is easy to raise, and rides it toward the surface along the Monk’s escape tunnel. Primeval essence at rank three cannot keep up with its cost, so he has to stop and recover while it drills through cave-ins. He had thrown away Thunderwings Gu earlier and was lacking a movement-type Gu when he obtained this steed. The chapter does not call the spider itself a movement-type Gu. ^{ch. 188}

The same stretch explains that under the Monk it had fought First gen Gu Yue and been corrupted by Blood Frenzy Gu. After the Monk died it fled back along its escape path, sealed itself, and hibernated. Awakened centuries later, the frenzy returns and it digs wildly while Fang Yuan rides it upward with only partial control. ^{ch. 189}

It surfaces into the three clans’ battlefield with Fang Yuan on its back, clashes with Bai Ning Bing and the white form immortal snake, then is abandoned when Blood Frenzy corruption is about to turn it into blood water. ^{ch. 190} The text never shows the moment that change finishes. It has already died. ^{ch. 193} By then, Fang Yuan had lost both Thunderwings Gu and the Thousand Li Earthwolf Spider as separate prior mounts. ^{ch. 196} Five days into the Yellow Dragon River flight, Fang Yuan’s spider is already dead, while Bai Ning Bing’s white form immortal snake has flown off with no news. ^{ch. 200} The spider and Bai Ning Bing’s White Form Immortal Snake Gu are later called mobile rank five Gu, with one dead and the other escaped. ^{ch. 206} No later cited chapter names another specimen beyond this Flower Wine Monk copy that Fang Yuan briefly rides.
