Don't think too much when killing people
Fang Yuan leads Jia Jin Sheng through the crack in the mountain, and Jia Jin Sheng asks why he was chosen over Jia Fu, whom he calls honest. Fang Yuan answers that Jia Fu’s cultivation is too high, so Jia Fu could give the image wall to the Gu Yue clan head, and that Fang Yuan does not believe in integrity. His chief reason, unspoken, is that Jia Jin Sheng’s cultivation is weak and he is easy to manipulate. Jia Jin Sheng laughs dryly, his suspicions mostly gone. ch. 46
In the secret cave Jia Jin Sheng sees the image wall play the Flower Wine Monk’s feud with the fourth generation clan leader. Seeing the Monk’s corpse, he presses Fang Yuan on what he gained from a rank five inheritance. Fang Yuan says most of the Gu are dead and he only got a Liquor worm. Jia Jin Sheng does not believe him, and Fang Yuan laughs coldly without replying. ch. 46
Jia Jin Sheng says he knows at the very least that the Monk had a Thousand Li Earthwolf spider, a rank five steed-type Gu that burrows and let the demonic cultivator escape righteous cultivators. He reasons that the spider should have dug the cave and, as the Monk died here, is definitely here. Fang Yuan agrees that the cave has no other exit and the massive spider could not have squeezed out through the crack. He allows that the fourth generation might have killed it, noting that the image wall never shows the Monk summoning it. Jia Jin Sheng asks suspiciously what else could have made the cave. Fang Yuan senses he has missed a crucial point and falls into thought. ch. 46
The image wall then changes. A gravely injured, pale, bald Gu Master appears, his chest and limbs deeply cut but not bleeding. He laughs madly and names himself the Flower Wine Monk. Whoever let the video run for nearly one hundred days, he says, bears the Gu Yue family no good will, and he offers that person his entire inheritance if they exterminate the Gu Yue clan to the last. ch. 46
Stunned, Jia Jin Sheng reckons that rank three marks a family elder, four a village lord and five a mountain lord, and that the inheritance might raise his D grade talent and let him contest Jia Fu. He decides to take the inheritance and ignore the Monk’s condition. He plans to kill Fang Yuan to protect the secret, after lying that they will split the treasure. He turns around with a fake smile, but two blue moonblades are already flying toward him. One takes his head off at the neck, and two seconds later his corpse falls. Fang Yuan looks at it plainly. He says not to think so much when killing, and turns to the image wall, calling the twist interesting. ch. 46
