Gu Yue Bo

Inside the clan, power sits in three camps: the clan leader’s side, Gu Yue Chi Lian’s Chi family, and Gu Yue Mo Chen’s Mo family. ^{ch. 78} He and those two elders take the authoritative seats when the academy year-end examination opens under tentage. ^{ch. 82} He is rank four, unable to find the rank six Spring Autumn Cicada even by personal inspection, ^{ch. 86} and later leads the elders against a thunder crown wolf at that rank. ^{ch. 164} No chapter states a stage within his rank four.

As clan leader he also greets outside rank four visitors in person. When the Jia caravan arrives, he comes out himself rather than leave a rank three elder to receive Jia Fu. ^{ch. 39} During the River Swallowing Toad crisis he refuses early calls for Bai and Xiong aid, mentions a rumor about the toad from the previous clan head, and assigns the Chi Shan group to test it. ^{ch. 117} When Fang Yuan returns as rank three, Bo confirms the elder appointment and temporarily shifts the medicine hall to Chi Zhong. ^{ch. 154} During the later investigation he holds a Photo-audio Gu of clan records, then smashes it after speaking with Tie Xue Leng. ^{ch. 180}

When the myriad beast king thunder crown wolf arrives, he leads the elders out of the village against it. In that fight he first cuts a golden moonblade that splits into three, then uses Moon-invite Gu: his left hand forms a whirlpool of purple moonlight that absorbs the elders’ moonblades and returns a huge purple moonblade against the wolf. He later orders the Iron Chain Snake method to trap the wolf, then falls back to the village with the elders still able to fight. ^{ch. 164} After Tie Xue Leng’s help he toasts the investigator for saving his life from the lightning lycan, while Gu Yue Chi Lian is recorded as killed in that same assault. ^{ch. 171}

Once Tie Ruo Nan raises the ten-extreme physique reading, Bo’s attitude toward Fang Yuan flips hard: he treats the boy as a prophesied Ancient Moon Desolate Yin asset the clan must keep, even against Jia family pressure. He activates a Gu worm and flies from the window when he goes to search for Fang Yuan, but that flight Gu is not named in the chapter text. ^{ch. 181} He later admits the three-clans battlefield loss so he can chase the fleeing Fang Yuan, and then fights through a crane disaster as a rank four expert to shield him. ^{ch. 190} Bound by the white-brow elderly’s light ring with the other two rank four clan leaders, he orders Gu Yue clansmen to protect Fang Yuan at all costs as the only one that knows the method, then turns to face that rank five attacker. The three clan leaders die one by one. ^{ch. 191} Later Qing Mao chapters do not expand that battlefield death beyond the chapter 191 statement.
