The Divine Investigator's murder inquiry on Qing Mao Mountain runs from Tie Xue Leng's arrival to the day the three great clans are left frozen.

Qing Mao Mountain hands this range an open breach. Bai Ning Bing chased Fang Yuan through a wolf pack valley fight and killed Gu Yue Gu Masters along the way, which a Gu Yue Gu Master names a violation of the three clan alliance treaty.^{ch. 134} Gu Yue elders surround him for it, and Gu Yue Qing Shu is among those who face him.^{ch. 140}

First gen Gu Yue uses Blood Skull Gu on Gu Yue clansmen to raise his own aptitude, then fights Bai Ning Bing’s Northern Dark Ice Soul physique inside a Blood Curtain Skyflower shield.^{ch. 195}

Trapped under ice between First gen Gu Yue and Lord Sky Crane, Fang Yuan uses Spring Autumn Cicada again and is reborn once more.^{ch. 196} After that rebirth he and Bai Ning Bing leave a Qing Mao Mountain turned into a desolate ice mountain, with the three great clans frozen, and set Bai Gu mountain as their next destination.^{ch. 199}
