Qing Mao Mountain

Flower Wine Monk's strength inheritance and the three clan villages define Fang Yuan's next years on Qing Mao Mountain.

Chapter 60 is titled “Passage behind the broken wall, how can the legacy be easily obtained?”. The passage behind the image wall is set to nurture an avenger against the Gu Yue clan.^{ch. 60} From that cave Fang Yuan takes the White Boar Gu.^{ch. 63}

Inheritance and mountain order

Qing Mao Mountain holds Gu Yue Village at the mountain waist, the Xiong family village on the fore mountain, and the Bai family village at the back mountain waterfall.^{ch. 65} Among the three clans in these years, the only successfully nurtured A grade talent is the Bai clan’s Bai Ning Bing, already rank three.^{ch. 74} On damp ground before a later rock door, the inheritance also yields a Jade Skin Gu; Fang Yuan takes it, then opens the door.^{ch. 79} A large-scale wolf tide hits the big mountain villages every three years.^{ch. 93} The peak is one mountain among countless peaks of the Southern Border.^{ch. 103} A caravan later reaches Qing Mao Mountain in spring.^{ch. 109} On the third day of treehouse bidding he purchases Black Boar Gu, a rank one strength Gu whose effect can overlay the White Boar Gu strength he already holds.^{ch. 111}

Clan head Gu Yue Bo reports a rank five River Swallowing Toad sleeping at the mountain foot; the conference warns that if provoked, flood can submerge much of the mountain, wreck the spirit spring, and drive an early wolf tide uphill.^{ch. 117} Fang Yuan pushes the toad about three hundred meters with the force of the tides and his raised strength, and it wakes and leaves.^{ch. 120}

Three-clan wolf tide

Under a worsening wolf tide the three clans form an alliance.^{ch. 124} Fang Yuan had already refined Stealth Scales Gu before the Gu battle tournament by trading Black Boar Gu to Qing Shu for Fish Scale Gu; the grey fossilised-carp Gu lets him hide from ordinary lightning wolves whose sight is sharp but whose smell is weak. The alliance opens a battle merit board that pays ten merit points per lightning wolf eyeball.^{ch. 127}

Bai Ning Bing meeting

During the wolf tide fighting, Bai Ning Bing finds Fang Yuan watching a valley battle, praises him, and asks for a mutual kill. Fang Yuan’s prior-life memory places Bai Ning Bing as the one who later murders the three clans and turns green Qing Mao Mountain into a hellish ice mountain. Chapter 133 is titled “Thanks for letting me kill you”, and the duel it opens runs on past it.^{ch. 133}

Truce in the smoke

The lightning lycan crisis closes the range. Inside the smoke Fang Yuan and Bai Ning Bing agree a guarded truce, pair Lightning Eye Gu with Earth Communication Ear Grass to read the ground the smoke hides, and break out together; the instant they are clear both attack, the truce ends, and Bai Ning Bing walks away declaring a path of his own.^{ch. 169}
