Trample ruthlessly!
The final match, Gu Yue Fang Zheng against Gu Yue Fang Yuan, opens with Fang Zheng telling his brother to concede: he already holds rank two and over eighty percent red steel primeval essence against Fang Yuan’s forty-four percent green bronze. Fang Yuan answers that Fang Zheng knows his primeval essence well enough already, and that a fight decided by primeval essence alone would not be worth having. Fang Zheng charges, and Fang Yuan steps forward to meet him rather than falling back to trade moonblades at range. ch. 84
Fang Zheng fires moonblade after moonblade to hold the gap, and Fang Yuan closes through every one of them with no wasted motion, his five hundred years of battle experience reading each flick of Fang Zheng’s wrist before the blade leaves his hand. Fang Zheng, trained for barely a year, cannot regain his tempo once Fang Yuan gets inside his guard. ch. 84
Fang Yuan lands a hidden-angle punch to Fang Zheng’s stomach, then a blow at his waist that drops him to the ground; Fang Zheng rolls and fires a moonblade behind himself, but Fang Yuan has already circled clear and it hits nothing. As Fang Zheng rises, a punch to the ear drops him again, and he lies stunned for over two breaths before his vision clears on Fang Yuan’s feet beside him. Fang Yuan then stamps his head into the stage floor three times, the third time grinding down and holding, until Fang Zheng’s face is pressed flat against the boards. ch. 84
Still pinned, Fang Zheng remembers the Moonlight Gu and gathers moonlight in his free palm, but Fang Yuan fires first, striking a moonblade through the palm and nearly ruining the worm on it. Fang Zheng cries out as the pain convulses his whole body. ch. 84
