White Boar Gu

It is a cute ladybug the size of a thumb’s fingernail. Its body is milky white, and from the back it looks like a circle. The head occupies a small area. The rest is a large fat stomach with a bright shiny exoskeleton. Six tiny cream coloured limbs hide under the stomach. ^{ch. 63} After a meal of pork it keeps that milky white worm look and does not grow. ^{ch. 70} In the aperture the round body spreads its wings and flies in circles. White Boar Gu and Black Boar Gu share a similar look. ^{ch. 64}

Its food is pork. Black and White Boar Gu both need about one fully grown pig’s worth of meat every five days. ^{ch. 64} Fang Yuan feeds it by hunting mountain boars and letting the Gu eat the meat from the carcass. ^{ch. 70}

He obtains it from the first Earth Treasury flower on the inheritance path, ^{ch. 63} then uses it while hunting and training so he can push the blocking boulder once he has one boar’s strength. ^{ch. 64 ch. 79} The activation itself is primeval essence into the Gu, white light through the body, and strength rooted into muscle and skin. ^{ch. 70} When he expects clan inspection, he leaves White Boar Gu and Jade Skin Gu in his second secret cave rather than carry them. ^{ch. 86}

The White Boar Gu is most compatible with the Jade Skin Gu. Together they fuse into rank two White Jade Gu. ^{ch. 64 ch. 98} Fang Yuan succeeds at that fusion; the White Boar Gu itself is gone afterward, ^{ch. 99} but the strength it already gave him stays in his body. ^{ch. 100} White Jade Gu keeps and enhances Jade Skin defense, and drops the White Boar Gu’s strength-gain ability. ^{ch. 105}

In the Shang clan city stretch, while Wei Yang argues against the strength path, Fang Yuan lists black and white boar Gu among the Gu he used to modify his body and raise strength. Wei Yang then calls those Gu expensive ones that permanently increase strength. ^{ch. 280}

Without Gu worms that modify the body like Black Boar Gu and White Boar Gu, a Gu Master’s body is no different from a mortal’s; dao marks from such modification are what make the body extraordinary. ^{ch. 1024} In Reverse Flow River terms, using Black Boar Gu to gain a boar’s strength carves strength path dao marks into the body, so that strength still remains usable even when Gu worms cannot be activated. ^{ch. 1272}
