Stealth Scales Gu

In Fang Yuan’s aperture it looks like a fossilised carp, grey throughout, lying in the primeval sea with very realistic fish scales. ^{ch. 127} It also carries a stonefish appearance deep in that sea. ^{ch. 159}

Fish Scale Gu is used with Stealth Rock Gu to create Stealth Scales Gu. Fang Yuan first lacks the Fish Scale Gu, ^{ch. 123} then gains it by trading his Black Boar Gu with Gu Yue Qing Shu. ^{ch. 127} The text says that Fish Scale plus Stealth Rock recipe would only be discovered two hundred years later, so Qing Shu has no clue why Fang Yuan wants the Fish Scale Gu. ^{ch. 123}

The Fish Scale Gu trade is settled. ^{ch. 123} Fang Yuan had already refined Stealth Scales Gu before the Gu battle tournament, though the refinement moment itself goes unnarrated. ^{ch. 127}

After refinement he vanishes among lightning wolf packs, ^{ch. 127} and he recovers primeval essence while staying hidden. ^{ch. 130} The same early wolf-tide stretch shows him preparing to enter the rock crack secret cave again. ^{ch. 127} He also uses it to carry a captive deerling to the rock door, ^{ch. 129} and later to vanish with Gu Yue Yao Le after knocking her out. ^{ch. 151}

During a hunt, Fang Yuan hands the Stealth Scales Gu to Bai Ning Bing, who hides and closes in for a kill. ^{ch. 211} Later, while fleeing Bai clan forces, Fang Yuan activates it again and turns invisible. A clan elder stretches out a hand and grabs toward him; the Stealth Scales Gu, still hiding in Fang Yuan’s aperture, breaks into pieces and perishes. ^{ch. 227} Stealth scales Gu is among the Gu destroyed in that pursuit. ^{ch. 228}
