Lord Sky Crane

The white crane under him cries out; from far away many return calls answer, and over ten thousand flying cranes gather onto the arena. Fang Yuan later recognizes the beasts as Iron Beak Flying Crane from the Middle Kingdom, and Gu Yue Bo names the rider rank five. Fang Yuan urges Gu Yue Bo to gather the scattered Gu Masters and break for Gu Yue village. The rider lets survivors flee so he can finish them together, then kills the three rank four clan leaders who could interfere and forces the flock into the village. ^{ch. 191}

The white-brow elderly is Lord Sky Crane of Central Continent’s Immortal Crane Sect. He and First gen Gu Yue were senior and junior brothers there. He once used rank five Crane Enslavement Gu to rule a myriad beast king crane. The two found a Blood Sea Ancestor true inheritance; he obtained it first, then First gen Gu Yue stole the Gu and tried to kill him. With sect help he later used life-preserving Jade Burial Gu to sleep and preserve his last life, and he comes to Qing Mao Mountain hunting that feud. ^{ch. 192}

He reports to supreme elder He Feng Yang. He says his lifespan has only a few days left, and that life-burial jade Gu cannot change that. He has already brought Fang Zheng into Immortal Crane Sect and made him his pupil. He spent his savings and Gu worms to exchange for a spirit incubating flea, planning that after he dies he will store his soul in it, accompany Fang Zheng’s growth, and push retrieval of Blood Skull Gu for the sect. ^{ch. 211}

By the Tian Ti mountain journey, Fang Zheng carries a spirit incubating flea in his aperture, and Lord Sky Crane’s soul resides in it, giving guidance from time to time. ^{ch. 336}

As Fang Zheng hesitates before the climb into Hu Immortal blessed land, Lord Sky Crane urges him toward Dang Hun Mountain and says he was only rank five while alive, and that after death his soul resides in the spirit incubating flea with nothing left of his own power. ^{ch. 366}
