Raise Eyebrows & Exhale Gu

Lord Sky Crane of Immortal Crane Sect first uses this Gu on Qing Mao Mountain while fighting First gen Gu Yue, after the two have already clashed as rank five peak stage Gu Masters. The chapter title prints the shorter form Raising Eyebrows & Exhale; the Gu itself is named Raise Eyebrows & Exhale Gu in the fight narration. ^{ch. 192}

Form and rank

When activated, Lord Sky Crane’s white eyebrows rise and grow into two thick bushes tens of metres long. They move like snakes, coil around the target, and hold with steel-like strength while staying malleable. Cut strands reconnect, and the brows keep extending if the bound target tries to retreat. ^{ch. 192}

No cited chapter states a numeric rank for Raise Eyebrows & Exhale Gu in plain words. The Qing Mao fight shows it in Lord Sky Crane’s hands against another rank five peak stage Gu Master, and rank two Gu Masters who grab the brows cannot match the rank five primeval essence draining through them. ^{ch. 192 ch. 193} Cited chapters never print a Chinese name, feeding method, or refinement recipe for this Gu.

Effect

The Gu does not use ordinary qi. It spends primeval essence from the Gu Master’s aperture and sends that out as primeval energy. The text calls the usage lose-lose: Raise Eyebrows & Exhale Gu acts like a bridge between the two apertures, so both sides expend primeval essence while it is sustained. High ranking Gu Masters often use it to bully the weak; using it on someone stronger is treated as courting death. ^{ch. 192}

On Qing Mao Mountain the matchup favored Lord Sky Crane for a different reason. Both fighters were rank five peak stage, but First gen Gu Yue’s zombie aperture could not recover natural primeval essence, while Lord Sky Crane’s living aperture still could. The user must keep sustaining the Gu; under attack Lord Sky Crane could only defend with a separate light barrier while the eyebrows kept draining. ^{ch. 192}

Anyone who grabs the white eyebrows can be caught by split strands. Those captives then share the essence drain. Gu Masters at rank two who join that way empty their apertures and die when the apertures collapse. Fang Yuan and Bai Ning Bing both take that risk to help First gen Gu Yue burn Lord Sky Crane’s essence faster. ^{ch. 193}

Qing Mao Mountain use

Lord Sky Crane brings the Gu out as a trump card after he starts losing the aerial exchange. ^{ch. 192} Even while qi and blood conflict leave him almost unable to move, he can still push the Gu harder and accelerate the drain on First gen Gu Yue. ^{ch. 193}

First gen Gu Yue later breaks the white eyebrows with Blood Curtain Skyflower Gu. The blood shield cuts the brows apart, frees the Gu Masters coiled in them, and Sky Crane Lord names that counter as breaking his Raise Eyebrows & Exhale Gu. ^{ch. 194}

Cited chapters after the Qing Mao crisis never show another owner or a later copy outside this fight.
