Tie Xue Leng calls him out by name above the blood pond under Qing Mao Mountain, saying he is not dead, that he hid for nearly a thousand years plotting a scheme now falling apart, and that he should appear rather than hide behind a blood python. ^{ch. 184} When Flower Wine Monk tried to nurture Heavenly Essence Treasure Lotus at the village, First gen Gu Yue stopped him, fought him with terrain advantage, and forced him to flee. ^{ch. 188}

From the blood lake a crimson coffin rises, and the corpse that steps from it uses rank five Blood Wight Gu, named as Gu Yue first head turned into a blood wight flying zombie and buried there because Lifespan Gu is hard to find. He and Lord Sky Crane were senior and junior brothers of Middle Continent’s Immortal Crane Sect. Lord Sky Crane obtained a Blood Sea Ancestor true inheritance first; First gen Gu Yue stole the Gu, failed to kill him, fled under a changed name, and in his final days founded Gu Yue village on Qing Mao Mountain as Gu Yue. Lord Sky Crane later tracks him with Kinship Bloodworm refined from the heart blood of First gen Gu Yue’s two young sons. ^{ch. 192} In the later shield fight he chews primeval stones to refill spent primeval essence and uses Blood Skull Gu on Gu Yue clansmen to raise his aptitude. ^{ch. 194} He names his own original aptitude as C grade against Lord Sky Crane’s A grade. ^{ch. 195}

After Fang Yuan throws him out of the blood barrier and ruins his recovery plan, he is smashed to the ground, then flies up and crashes against the blood barrier trying to re-enter. ^{ch. 197} Lord Sky Crane later returns holding his blood-covered skull. ^{ch. 198}
