Chapter 366

Fang Zheng lands flat on his face in a grassland. Though he fell from a great height, the fall was brief, so he survives. Far away, climbers as small as ants scale a tall, half translucent crystal mountain. Lord Sky Crane, speaking from inside him, orders him to climb that Dang Hun mountain at once. He explains that Hu Immortal Inheritance is an intact Gu Immortal Inheritance with only one inheritor, who will have a huge chance to become an immortal. The girl Fang Zheng met is the inheritance, and whoever reaches the peak first becomes her master. ^{ch. 366}

Hu Immortal has passed away, but her will seals all Gu, so every climber must rely on physical strength alone. Running toward the distant peak, Fang Zheng despairs at the huge gap. A day outside is five days inside, Lord Sky Crane says, so the short interval between entries was stretched. Lord Sky Crane answers that he was only rank five while alive and has nothing left, his soul residing in the spirit incubating flea. He can talk because of Immortal Crane Sect’s Supreme Elder He Feng Yang. Hu Immortal Inheritance has a land spirit, so the blessed land has its own will. Land spirits are innocent and stubborn, carrying on their original master’s obsession. A Gu Immortal who attacks by force risks the land spirit destroying the land, which is why elite disciples are sent. ^{ch. 366}

Lord Sky Crane calls Spirit Affinity House’s Feng Jin Huang truly amazing and Fang Zheng’s defeat by her normal. Immortal Crane Sect has not necessarily lost, and Fang Zheng is its hope for reversal. Fang Zheng realizes the contest is really a battle between the ten great sects, with disciples as chess pieces and Gu Immortals as players. The crystal mountain is Dang Hun mountain from the legends of Ren Zu. Its soul shock grows stronger nearer the peak, and many souls scatter halfway up. The land spirit has suppressed the mountain’s might and sends out any climber who cannot continue, so lives are not at risk. Fang Zheng’s soul, tempered by his clan’s destruction, is stronger than his peers’ yet still falls short of Feng Jin Huang and Xiao Qi Xing. Blended with the blessed land, the land spirit controls it like an immortal deity.
