Tie Clan

Appearance

Tie clan city sits on the upper half of Wan Cheng mountain behind tall thick blackrock walls that stretch for thousands of li, with rock houses and steel towers lined up toward the peak, and the clan leader pavilion at the mountain peak. ^{ch. 211}

On Wan Cheng mountain peak stands the Demon Suppression Tower, a majestic steel tower over three hundred metres tall with almost a hundred floors, rustic and ancient in design, with white clouds around it like mist. ^{ch. 211}

Southern Border standing

The novel first brings Tie Xue Leng and Tie Ruo Nan onto Qing Mao Mountain during the wolf tide, when the rank five Divine Investigator and his daughter arrive at Jia Fu’s request to investigate a murder. ^{ch. 170} Through the Gu Yue banquet stretch the text keeps calling them Tie family as the father and daughter press the investigation. ^{ch. 171 ch. 172}

Later, Tie Ruo Nan warns Gu Yue Bo that her uncle is the current Tie clan leader, and the text frames Tie as a super clan with thousands of years of legacy. Even in the entire Southern Border, Tie clan is a first-class powerhouse with strong foundations, far above an average clan like Gu Yue. ^{ch. 182}

Later ranking talk places Shang clan among top Southern Border forces and says Shang is not weaker than Tie clan or Fei clan, with only Wu clan above Shang. ^{ch. 229} In Shang Clan City, observers treat Tie clan as one of the lords of the Southern Border and as no weaker than Shang. ^{ch. 294}

Demon Suppression Tower and investigation

Standing tall in the Tie clan mountain fort is the Demon Suppression Tower, imprisoning countless demonic Gu Masters and treated as a symbol of the righteous faction. ^{ch. 182}

Bai clan talk treats Tie clan as a huge powerhouse that not even ten Bai clans could match. ^{ch. 220} Tie clan is also named the number one investigator in the Southern Border. ^{ch. 293} In Shang Clan City, people say Tie clan has captured demonic Gu Masters from everywhere and that its Demon Suppression Tower is the nemesis of the demonic path. ^{ch. 294} Tie clan Gu Masters defeated the pair known as the Bai Sha Twin Generals, who were also known for assaulting Tie clan’s merchant ships, and Bai Jiang died in that defeat while Huang Sha escaped. ^{ch. 998} Among Southern Border’s super forces, Tie clan has targeted the demonic path most fiercely, and especially after it built the Demon Suppression Tower it has been the pillar of the righteous path pursuing demonic Gu Immortals. ^{ch. 1341}
