Tie Ao Kai

Fang Yuan tells him he need not scout anymore, that it is Fang Yuan alone, and that their hidden path suits killing them all. When the formation opens, Tie Ao Kai starts running at the side. He flings his sleeves and a large swarm of golden needle mosquitoes flies out; later he can only wander at the sidelines. ^{ch. 360} He wants to attack with those mosquitoes when golden needle mosquito talk returns, then his expression turns stiff. ^{ch. 361}

Fang Yuan judges that as an investigative Gu Master moving on the outskirts, Tie Ao Kai’s speed makes him crucial to eliminate so he cannot seek reinforcements. Seeing Fang Yuan fly toward him, Tie Ao Kai’s face is aghast; he tells himself he must escape to San Cha Mountain and report to the four elders of Tie clan, then runs. Tie Ba Xiu shouts for him to come back. Narration says that running alone with little primeval essence and low cultivation, he cannot outrun Fang Yuan on foot. In a moment Fang Yuan carries his head and flies back. ^{ch. 362}

Months later Tie Ruo Nan faces tombstones that name Tie Mu, Tie Dao Ku, Tie Xian Hua, Tie Ao Kai, and Tie Ba Xiu. Tie Mu Bai tells her Tie clansmen are buried where they die, and names Tie Ao Kai among those for whom dying on the battlefield is the greatest honor. ^{ch. 369}
