Appearance
Deep within a newly opened Earth Trench, the field’s soil is black and firm like iron. Colorful smoke rises from the soil, floats toward the sky, and forms into clouds. Gu Masters in the field feel a warm feeling permeating bodies and souls. ch. 1531
Ye Fan identifies it as a smoky warm jade field of a few square kilometers that can produce immortal material smoky warm jade and has extremely high value. Shang Xin Ci leads Shang clan’s mortal force to guard it while Hou clan and Tie clan also contest it; Ye Fan notes that whichever clan controls the field gains a sizeable amount of smoky warm jade each year, and that the three clans’ mortal leaders are pawns for the Gu Immortals behind them. ch. 1531
Immortal wager
Above the mortal battlefield, Shang, Hou, and Tie Gu Immortals drink tea and use their clans’ mortals as chips to gamble ownership of this high grade resource point. Tie Mian Shen, the only rank seven among the three present, sits at the center while Shang Qing Qing and the Hou clan immortal speak respectfully to him. ch. 1532
Water monster sabotage
Yi clan Gu Immortals find an ancient water monster under the field and lure it awake. Water pillars tens of feet high rush from the black soil and destroy Shang clan’s Gu formation. ch. 1533 Hou Yao then states that the smoky warm jade field has an underground frost heart lake with that ancient water monster inside, and the three immortals move to stop it from destroying the field. ch. 1534
