At a later opening the text labels him pink butterfly gentleman and rank four peak stage. He turns into phoenix winged golden butterflies against Yi Huo, is burned back, reforms, then enters King Xin Inheritance with Long Qing Tian. ^{ch. 356} Tie Ba Xiu’s roster still lists him among five rank four peak stage Gu Masters on the mountain. ^{ch. 359} Fang Yuan again recalls that in his previous life the four old-timers’ limitless search and lock killer move made Kong Ri Tian a victim and caused a demonic expert’s downfall. ^{ch. 362}

His whole body explodes and turns into phoenix winged golden butterflies, hundreds and thousands of them, with wings as sharp as knives. The golden butterflies fly far away and converge, changing back into him. ^{ch. 356}

Narration later calls him an old demonic expert who would not easily obey young rank five leader Mo Wu Tian. ^{ch. 392}

In the joint dog-army assault he laughs and turns into a rain of petals. ^{ch. 393}

In a later push toward the bronze hall he again becomes a rain of petals floating in the sky. ^{ch. 403}

Near Southern Border’s Sun Moon Sinkhole, demonic path Kong Ri Tian flees without looking back while Wu Ji, leader of Wu clan, pursues him and demands the Gu worms of Sheng Tian true inheritance. Seeing capture near, he shouts to bystanders that whoever helps him escape will share the Gu Immortal true inheritance with him. ^{ch. 2095}

Wu Ji later says that without Kong Sheng Tian’s bloodline she would not have lost that contest. Wu Zhan Ping answers that Kong Ri Tian has Immortal Gu but is still a mortal, that he escaped luckily, and that many righteous path Gu Immortals are already targeting him. ^{ch. 2097}

Injured, he hides in a rotten mud cave on Rotten Mud Mountain with Wang Xiao Er and Central Continent’s four great obscenities after using the inheritance to lure them into escaping together. A will floats from his body: Kong Sheng Tian’s will, with Immortal Gu and immortal essence that give him Gu Immortal methods. He calls that will ancestor, and the will prepares an escape that will leave Hu Land behind for the Gu Immortals outside. ^{ch. 2098}

Wu Yong later judges that Kong Ri Tian has Kong Sheng Tian’s will and can connect to treasure yellow heaven, and that exposing Hu Land’s secret at a crucial moment would bring Wu clan huge conflict. ^{ch. 2100}
