On the mountain waist of San Cha Mountain, an ending battle leaves four Che Clan Gu Masters still standing against three from Zuo Clan. Che clan elder Che You Yin presses the attack while telling his daughter Che Qiao Xiang to stay back with her injury; she wants to fight beside him. Che You Yin and Zuo Wu Sheng are rivals for tens of years and about equal strength; both are injured rank three fighters when the demonic Gu Master Kong Ri Tian arrives, captures Che Qiao Xiang and Zuo Chan Yu, then the three kings inheritance opens on the peaks. ch. 323
Che clan has five hundred and eighty years of history. For centuries Che and Zuo have been mortal enemies, and for the past hundred years both have expanded and fought to occupy San Cha mountain. ch. 323

Later narration again places the whole San Cha mountain between Zuo clan’s neighboring mountain and Che clan’s Fei Lai mountain. Those two clans had been expanding and competing at San Cha with intent to occupy it before the three kings inheritance ruined that plan. The same passage frames Southern Border as a land of a hundred thousand famous mountains and countless unnamed hills, and treats Che and Zuo as nearby forces who can finally commit most of their troops once the inheritance turns strange. ch. 389
