Tap fire

In Southern Border near Shang clan territory, rank four Gu Master Xiao Yan dodges a large lump of tap fire, an orange flame the size of an elephant that rolls toward him like a stone. He moves to capture it, and so does the fire path demonic Gu Master Bao Tong, who attacks him over the same prize. ^{ch. 2282}

Shang Xin Ci sees golden flames burn an entire mountain and judges that tap fire alone cannot produce such power: the light shows an immortal material flame, a matter for Shang clan Gu Immortals rather than mortals. ^{ch. 2282}

Kong Ri Tian had attacked Xiao Yan and meant to frame Bao Tong, not expecting the tap fire to contain an immortal material flame. In the fight the tap fire dispersed and the immortal essence flame inside exploded, burning the mountain and trapping Xiao Yan and Bao Tong while Kong Ri Tian escaped. ^{ch. 2289}
