Bao Tong, called Fiery Star, is a famous demonic path Gu Master who attends Century Boy's banquet on San Cha Mountain.
On San Cha Mountain, he drinks while praising little beast king’s inheritance gains and envying how far Fang Yuan has climbed as a three kings candidate. When Fang Yuan calls Century Boy out, Rock Lizard Li Qiang, Bao Tong, and others put their cups down with grave faces. Only Li Qiang’s grave expression relaxes once Fang Yuan says the trouble is aimed only at Century Boy. Bao Tong strokes his beard with satisfaction that little beast king knew their names. ch. 367

After the banquet fight
After Century Boy falls, Bao Tong is named rank four upper stage with Li Qiang and the other guests; they stay seated under Fang Yuan’s threat while Fang Yuan takes the host seat. ch. 368

He laments that a retreat token in the three kings inheritance would have let him move without early retreat. ch. 369
Treasure raid orders
When talk of a Gu Immortal treasure spreads, demonic merchant Li Xian, Fiery Star Bao Tong, Rock Lizard Li Qiang, and others gather. Mo Wu Tian orders Bao Tong onto the right path with eight hundred people, to shout and charge southwest for five hundred unobstructed steps, then fight lightning symbol dogs and break through within forty-five minutes or fall back. ch. 391
Failed charge
Bao Tong returns injured and irascible: he heard fighting to the southeast, moved that way, and met lightning symbol dogs, hedgedogs, and corpse dogs together. He screams that Mo Wu Tian must explain and should put in rank five effort. Mo Wu Tian’s purple eyes shine; Bao Tong cannot move and falls dead. Narration calls Fiery Star Bao Tong a famous rank four fire path Gu Master and rank four upper stage, ended by a single stare. Mo Wu Tian tells the others to split Bao Tong’s Gu as compensation; Li Xian, Hu Mei Er, and Li Qiang take the share. ch. 392
