Hedgedog

By the end of the nineteenth round, Fang Yuan commands nineteen hedgedogs among over eighty dogs. At the twentieth round they line up and charge Big Lightning Symbol Dog fearlessly. They are not the same race as the lightning symbol dogs, so they suffer fewer casualties, and eleven remain. ^{ch. 349}

His group then holds eleven hedgedogs beside Big Lightning Symbol Dog, now his own. ^{ch. 350} Against the steel armor dogs, grey hedgedogs stand in support of the blue lightning symbol dogs. ^{ch. 351}

Wu Shen Tong sees hedgedogs with their entire bodies filled with spikes, so that attacking them injures the attacker. If steel armor dogs are tough with armor, he thinks, hedgedogs are tough with spikes. To eliminate them, one must be prepared to take punctured throats. Seeing so many, he calls the opponent lucky and plans steel armor dogs as vanguard with lightning symbol dogs flanking. ^{ch. 386}
