Chrysanthemum Akita Dog
Han Bu Liu resists desperately, but Fang Yuan sees through every tactic, and an hour later only eight wild dogs remain, all of them Fang Yuan’s. Han Bu Liu kneels, begs for his life and offers to serve Fang Yuan as master. Fang Yuan asks for the slavery Gu as proof of sincerity. Han Bu Liu answers that Gu Masters cannot use their Gu worms inside this blessed land and that he has none. Fang Yuan coldly sends the eight wild dogs at him, and they catch him as he flees and tear him apart, Fang Yuan watching in silence until Han Bu Liu is dead. ch. 348
The corpse is completely destroyed, but Fang Yuan keeps the stomach area intact and enters the aperture through it. It is a standard rank four middle stage aperture, slowly dying and shrinking. The blessed land has suppressed its five Gu, all from the enslavement path, two of them rank four. Fang Yuan retrieves them and refines them into his own aperture without using Spring Autumn Cicada. King Quan seems to encourage Gu Masters to kill each other, which shows the cruelty of a demonic inheritance. ch. 348
Han Bu Liu’s dying struggle had killed the most heavily injured wild dog, so seven remain, each injured. Twelve dead wild dogs are insignificant to Fang Yuan beside two rank four Gu and three rank three Gu. Heavenly power descends again. Fang Yuan sneers with rising killing intent, calling every Gu Master in the blessed land a moving treasure. ch. 348
The fog shows a black shadow ahead for an enemy Gu Master, a spiked black shadow left for the hedgedog, and an orange shadow right for the chrysanthemum akita dog. With seven injured wild dogs, Fang Yuan cannot choose a Gu Master opponent. The hedgedog has twice the attack power of an ordinary dog, and its spikes could kill his dogs through the intestines. Without steel armor dogs or Yin dogs to face hedgedogs, he walks right. ch. 348
Twenty rank one dog enslavement Gu fall into his hands as the fog clears. They are planted into a dog’s soul and die with the dog. The blessed land takes every such Gu a Gu Master brought in and leaves only one. Nearly sixty chrysanthemum akita dogs appear, orange furred with chrysanthemum patterns and drooping ears, each about the size of an ordinary wild dog or slightly smaller. They cooperate naturally, and on an open plain Fang Yuan could end no better than Han Bu Liu. He runs for the top of a mound. ch. 348
The pack finds him after five steps and charges in a river-like formation without any dog king. Fang Yuan narrowly reaches the mound first and retreats until a cliff is behind him, where the pack can send out only fifteen dogs at once. He sets his seven wild dogs to defend and throws five dog enslavement Gu out at the perfect timing. Five healthy chrysanthemum akita dogs turn to join him. Fifteen against seven becomes ten against twelve. The pack panics, and Fang Yuan kills six while the other four retreat and he lets them go. ch. 348
He spends the Gu in batches, each time on the healthiest dog available. After nearly ten attacks, all repelled, three Gu are left, and the remaining ten or so injured dogs run away in fear. Fang Yuan chooses not to attack and says a dog king commanding them would have prevented such an easy escape. His seven wild dogs are now three, but he holds sixteen chrysanthemum akita dogs, and spreading their injuries evenly he recovers greatly from his earlier losses. ch. 348
